VOTE NO ON CON-CON ADS UP

As someone who was disappointed with the UFT commercial that has been playing this month, I have a different outlook on the ads NYSUT is part of that are opposing the Constititional Convention.

I have donated directly to the cause and encourage all to do the same. You don't have to give to COPE to contribute to the VOTE NO ON Prop 1 campaign.

Has anyone seen any of these yet on television?

Because all our ads and picketing have helped so much in the past.

What would you do then?

Just saying the ship has sailed

Again, what would you do then?

We cant do anything. Take the salary and the abuse or quit.

Why are you commenting here where people want to do something?

Excuse me, I went from school to school as an ATR in 2014 and begged people to vote NO, I got laughed out of every building by teachers and chapter leaders, and then 77% voted yes. It is clear nothing is changing. If there was anything, ever, that would have gotten us united to fight back it would have been the last deal. It was disgraceful, laughable and disgusting, every aspect of it, and as stated, almost 80% voted yes.

Ditto 412. Tried to convince people. Nobody even bothered to look at parameters of contract, most still have no idea. Still get asked about retro and raises. If i retire what do i get? Come on. I begged uft for help with hardship transfer, no help. All of a sudden we are gonna join forces? Keep dreaming.

And i was forced placed because i have a good record. Thanks a lot.

Not sure what all of these comments have to do with voting no on Constitutional Convention. VOTE NO on November 7!!

Just speaking on uft impotence.

Anonymous said...

So vote no, who gives a fuck?

Anonymous said...

Exactly, and then convince your family and friends to all vote no too. Not hard.

Anonymous said...

By the way the ads are pretty good.

Anonymous said...

And then campaign for net zero raises.

Serious question and issue...I was forced placed this month in a vacancy, what I and the principal signed says its a 1 year deal and we both must agree that i come back next year, mutually. I thought the new rule says E or HE automatically stays. Which is it? Kind of puts me in a bad spot. If i get a good rating, i cant leave.

When the UFT says to vote No, it makes me want to vote Yes.

I get your line of thinking, but on this issue a NO vote is the way to go!

All the ways weve been destroyed already, and now we should rally around this?

James Eterno said...

Yes we should. Let's really win and protect our pensions. Can't hurt.

Anonymous said...

That isnt a win. Weve had nothing but losses for 12 years.

Anonymous said...

Another example of getting worse and saying it could be even worse, so its a victory.

James Eterno said...

The last two comments make a point but would you rather lose here?

Anonymous said...

Yeah but so what, we are getting less than scraps, look what we are settling for, what does that say about us?

James Eterno said...

You have to start somewhere.

Anonymous said...

Not after we already lost everything.

Anonymous said...

Do you realize how much 1.25% tda is worth, every year, compounding? Could be hundreds of thousands of dollars over a lifetime.

James Eterno said...

So let's not vote and have fixed rate reduced to 1.25% from 7%. We have to protect what we have left and then try to move ahead.

Anonymous said...

Every year, we will give a little more back

James Eterno said...

There certainly will be more givebacks until we have a strong union.
