SUMMARY OF CUOMO SCANDALS FROM CITY & STATE; UFT STILL SILENT

There is a good summary of all the Cuomo scandals written by Zach Williams. I am amazed that Cuomo hangs on. To me, it shows how morally bankrupt our state government is. The UFT still says nothing.

Here is the headline and opening paragraph of the City & State article:

Cuomo’s woes keep piling on

Sexual misconduct, undercounted nursing home deaths, COVID-19 vaccines and tests -- and a certain bridge he built.

By ZACH WILLIAMS

MARCH 26, 2021

There is the outstanding matter of his administration’s handling of the coronavirus in nursing homes. A litany of sexual misconduct allegations from multiple women have led to calls for his resignation and impeachment. Other scandals concern possible political meddling in distributing vaccines, safety concerns at the Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge and special treatment arranged by the governor for family members who needed COVID-19 tests.

All of this scandal while the pandemic has not been brought under control. We desperately need new and improved leadership at the state level.

Let's please not forget the deaths of thousands which went unreported as the elderly were piled into nursing homes.
"So,they died?" Lovely. The USNS Comfort went unused. The MASH facility set up in Central Park, ditto. The Javits Center in Hell's Kitchen, the same.
Lord knows,Donald Trump getting any type of good press could not be tolerated.

I am not exactly sure why you feel the UFT needs to comment on Cuomos sexual misconduct. Every entity doesn't need to comment on this. I dont see why a teachers union would.

It is essential that the UFT commits to its ethical and moral imperative to speak out against Cuomo. That it doesn’t shows more hypocrisy, hedging and fear from an organization that has lost almost all personal relevance as a collective voice for teachers. Is it a surprise? Unfortunately, no. Mulgrew is severing the very ties he will attempt to pull next June. Ties with members and the public are immeasurably more important than ties with Cuomo. This is yet another deep fracture in the foundation of the UFT that will eventually lead to its demise.

Very few truly care about the alleged Cuomo stuff.

Does Randi comment in George floyd, Breanna Taylor, voting...so why can't uft comment? They are worthless and people shouldn't pay dues.

2 words: NOBODY CARES.

And yet half of New Yorkers don't think he should resign. I think that's New Yorkers rejecting cancel culture. Cuomo benefits from people being sick and tired of cancel culture leftists.

The left wants Cuomo gone as does the right. The center is holding him up.

@10:09, The UFT and it’s teachers were, for years, continually vilified and attacked by Cuomo. Our schools, space and students were placed behind Charter schools and Eva. Mulgrew and his lackeys comment on just about everything, but not this. The great, screeching women’s rights, possessed marionette Randi stays silent about a serial sex harasser. Murphy, the head of the retiree faction, stays silent on all the elderly, who’s lives were deemed inconsequential by Cuomo. How many were former teachers or direct relatives of teachers? No comment from the UFT? What does the UFT think about Cuomo? No comment.

Cuomo has ro sign off on the ERI if it were to happen. Mulgrew speeks out, we might lose ant chance of the ERI

I looked back - Cuomo helped thwart disaffected union members ability to drop out of the UFT before Janus took full effect. During Cuomo’s last election the UFT would not utter a word against him because of that. Yet another example of the entity of the UFT taking priority over its members.

I agree with Bronx ATR.

The governor's troubles are growing, it's hard to see that he will be able to complete his term. Let it be noted who spoke out and who said nothing.

Yes the left wants Cuomo gone which is why the rest of us want him to stay. I'll take a Cuomo over communists.

Kathy Hochul is not a communist.

Cuomo’s team found a nice 65 year old Italian- American grandma to complain about a kiss on the check, to trivialize the truly sexually harassed. Hopefully people will see through this.

It’s about the commies dethroning Cuomo. Not about who gets the gov mansion or Hochel. Commies want Cuomo gone so I want him to stay.

7:47, Huh? Seriously? Cuomo would join the communist party tomorrow morning if it would gain him popularity. The republican party and Trump considered him the worst governor in the US. I’m assuming that might mean something to you. The Democrats were shamed into condemning him here in New York. They really don’t want him out nor does the UFT. However, there’s United bipartisan agreement that he is a huge stinking piece of shit. It’s good to see our people joining together in agreement over something. I will party like it’s 2019 when, if, that POS is convicted, as should everyone in New York State.

740 it should be easy to understand that we Communists do not want any of the politicians that are currently holding office. with your stated mindset, i guess you'll want to do all you can to keep them all in power. best of luck.

Sorry 8:05 Trumps opinion irrelevant to me. Let me make it simple. I support the person the cancel culture left goes after no matter who they are. I hate Cuomo. I hate cancel culture leftist communists more. When Cuomo joins the commie party, I will hate him as much. Sorry I don’t fit you’re Trump is a god narrative. I just hate the left more than anything in this world.

@6:41, I do too, except when I don’t. The left does not support Cuomo. He’s using folks like you just to stay in office, by screaming, I’m a victim on cancel culture!’ He’s always manipulated people this way, by claiming he is what they want or more often a choice that is the lesser of two evils. He is not the lesser of two evils, he encompasses everything repulsive in politics and our culture.

Cuomo is as evil as Trump.

Bronx ATR said...

Worse. Trump was at least humorous at times. Cuomo was as humorous as an undertaker during Covid, which is exactly what he was. Every time I saw him on those daily death promotions, I thought of Vincent Price in the Mask of the Red Death. Vincent Price, I could watch, but him? Holy shit, he really pushed me to get out the door every day during the pandemic, because I could not sit down and listen to his self aggrandizing bullshit. He has absolutely no shame.

The biggest victim of US censorship, or cancel culture to use the hip new phrase, is independent thought and a critique of our repressive capitalist system.

James Eterno said...

For those thinking we have to shut up to appease Cuomo, it may be better to pressure him. This is in the Buffalo News where they are expecting a probable late budget:

One of 10 bills that will make up the budget this year was introduced Monday night, but many controversial sections were "intentionally omitted," meaning either those matters won't be a part of the final budget or they will appear, rewritten, in a different, omnibus bill that Albany each year likes to call "The Big Ugly." Lawmakers will pass on time, if history is a guide, a bonding authorization bill to pay for ongoing borrowing expenses.

@6:41 am...Pardon me but if you disagree with cancel culture, why are you canceling out people on the left?

Cancel culture isn't new to most people i know. It's been in practice for centuries. It's only a problem now because certain voices are saying it. However it's not new. Side eye

Don’t agree. The cancel culture is new. Big tech censorship is akin to Verizon cutting my service because they don’t like my phone conversations. Or the Post Office refusing to deliver my mail because they disagree with my opinions.
