Every middle class person in the 5 boroughs who didn't vote during the last election will come out to vote him out. It'll be a voting competition between those living in projects and those in houses, apartments and coops. No wonder Sharpton has such influence with DBD.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15921757.post-28463916975167961022016-01-24T10:07:24.913-05:002016-01-24T10:07:24.913-05:00What a sorry state of affairs. What a sorry state of affairs.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15921757.post-33569404465260030832016-01-24T10:05:36.179-05:002016-01-24T10:05:36.179-05:00Name one NYC mayor or governor that has been popul...Name one NYC mayor or governor that has been popular with teachers. Remember Koch, Guiliani, Pataki, even Dinkins had issues with the UFT. And of course, the contractual damage done by Bloomberg/Klein with the unwise support of Weingarten and now the Cuomo policies along with the Mulgrew attitude/support of Farina. Now Deblasio may be a slow learner-but he's learning and I would still give him some slack. He has started his reelection campaign-starting with the handling of this storm and has to avoid any type of damaging scandal-either political or personal. Time will tell if he can change the perception created by the right wing media that crime and homeless are out of control--as if it just happened the day he took office. The bottom line will be the alternate candidates supported by corporate interests, NY Post etc.-- that will challenge him. I expect that Deblasio will be reelected as many New York voters don't like change. A large percentage of UFT, the PBA and other uniformed unions-all live outside NYC. Most municipal union workers will vote for him as they live in NYC. Mulgrew will easily win reelection and will endorse DeBalasio and there will be another crappy contract by 2018-but a contract that will be sold by the UFT by their president that will pass.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15921757.post-20684183936370136312016-01-23T23:04:46.527-05:002016-01-23T23:04:46.527-05:00Believe me DeBlasio doesn't need the Post to b...Believe me DeBlasio doesn't need the Post to bad mouth him - go into any teacher's lounge. He doesn't seem to be a bad guy but walked into the job with no experience- like the vast majority of teachers now teaching. At least he seems to be learning- he didn't pull Farina out of her mahjong game to tell us it's a beautiful day. He needs more snow events like today and other emergency style events in 2017 (mayoral election year) that shows he's in charge and doing a satisfactory job. Although the Post will do everything possible to bad-mouth him, he still has a good chance of being re-elected--unless Bloomberg wants his old mayoral job back or throws money to a potentially worthy candidate. Bloomberg has his eyes on wasting his money on a presidential bid as an independent. If he ever got elected-his first action as President would be to charterize Congress. Come to think of it-in many ways- Congress is already privatized as many CEO's and private corporations- own our politicians.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15921757.post-82715121159805515352016-01-23T14:21:37.922-05:002016-01-23T14:21:37.922-05:00Mulgrew and DeBlasio safely re-elected?. Unless DeBlasio starts waking up his re-election is far far from a sure thing. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
