Change to Open Market Screen Hints of Lay-offs

Without warning or explanation the Open Market System has been changed to reflect "Current Status" which indicates whether the DOE employee is laid-off, excessed and current assignment. For those of you who do not have access to the system an example is reproduced above. (Click on the example to enlarge it).

  1. How did you get that screen? I went to the OM and I just saw the OLD format.

  2. Easy to find your status:
Look for the white letters on the black bars at the left side of your screen, click on "My Current Status". I got excessed, yet my page says "No" for the question "Am I excessed?".

  3. Jeff - You are RIGHT. I am and ATR and for next year I am supposed to report to a different school. This is outrageous. I think they are trying to get rid of us. I work in Brooklyn and if I am not mistanken-- they are sending me to The Bronx.

  4. Do you have any idea what is going to happen with the ATR teachers? If an ATR gets hired now -- Is the new school supposed to pay the teacher the salary as a new teacher and DOE Central pays the rest? Is that agreement still current?

  6. They have to keep ATRS within their districts. You should not be sent from Brooklyn to the Bronx unless you are in a citywide district

  7. James Thank you for your answer. The UFT needs brains like yours, Jeff's and the rest of the ICE people. You always find and explain with clarity what others hide.
