CAN SOMEONE PLEASE FIND OUT ABOUT THE TRUE COST OF HEALTHCARE GIVEBACKS?

On Monday we wrote about the healthcare concessions in the proposed new UFT Contract. We did some further research and through the help of a reader found Appendix B which concerns healthcare.

Since we obtained the help we asked for in this post that is now totally obsolete, we are deleting the rest of this post but leaving the comments and asking you to check out our post from Saturday, October 20 to find out the whole story about healthcare givebacks buried in the announcement of the city's agreement with the UFT.

  1. This is why the UFT is rushing this through - more undefined health care givebacks to the city. Mulgrew thinks we are all idiots and perhaps he’s correct. Vote NO.

  2. This is what will keep me from voting yes on the contract; how can I vote for something when I don't know the true cost of it? This is going to screw us over guaranteed, otherwise, why be so secretive about it? It's like the city breaks even or ends up better off financially giving us this contract. We get below inflation raises and healthcare givebacks, and yet this contract is going to pass easily, which is the sad part.

  3. Another reason to opt out. How do we opt out?

  4. Our CL is very hardworking and dedicated- but Unity clearly convinced him this is the greatest contract deal ever. I'm voting NO because I won't argue with a friend, but this contract stinks.

  6. One of our readers got a hold of the mysterious Appendix B. We will post when we get a chance the range of healthcare givebacks that will be discussed in 2020 and must be implemented for 2021 and beyond.

  7. You keep talking about Unity James but there is no comment about the MORE members of the Ex Bd supporting the contract
