De Blasio defended Carranza in today's NY Post.
Please also note that Diane Ravitch has covered the NY Post taking on Carranza.
From Diane:
Susan Edelman reports in the New York Post that nine members of the NYC City Council complained that Chancellor Richard Carranza was hiring inexperienced cronies for top jobs.
One of his hires was a former Disney executive who will serve as “chief experience officer,” which is ironic since he apparently has no education experience. Maybe he will be there to make sure that students and teachers have good experiences, like the kind you get at Disney World.
Another will be paid $205,000 a year, although there are unanswered questions about his employment history. His title is: “senior executive director for continuous school improvement” with the Department of Education and a staff of 40.
Well, this is only because all the white staff is racist.
ReplyDeletePlease inform us: Are all the council members who signed this letter, "white devils?" If so, that paper is not worth a red cent in the court of public opinion these days.
ReplyDeleteNo Chancellor was worse than Klein (not even close) - he did everything Carranza is doing - hiring friends and folks of one color. Klein hired middle/upper management of overwhelmingly White women and White effeminate males - many who had no education experience and destroyed many teachers’ careers (including mine) and facilitated the closing of numerous schools (including mine). There were no calls for his resignation. Four wrongs don’t make a right and it seems a mite disingenuous for the NY Post to call for Carranza’s head when they ignored Klein, Walcott and Black - (ie, ‘overcrowded classes -the parents should have used birth control’). Nope, Carranza shouldn’t resign and I support him, but he needs to learn from his mistakes and make things right - stop using racially divisive language, stop hiring friends, clean out the Bloomberg turds, address epidemic academic fraud, end FSF and overhaul the whole cesspool that is the DOE. Just my opinion, but he should be given a chance.
ReplyDeleteRead the previous thread, all about academic fraud, he has done nothing.
ReplyDeleteI agree with BronxATR - The Post is a joke given how they supported every action of Klein - really Bloomberg. We have mayoral control - Carranza has to do what deB tells him to do.
ReplyDeleteThe calls for his resignation are always suspect given the previous chancellors since he's the first non-white chancellor (other than Walcott who was put in by Bloomberg to deflect issues of race) since Rudy Crew - remember how Giulianni forced him out and Cortines before him and Fernandez had to quit before that? Gee- do we think race has anything to do with it?
Get rid of Carranza! Make America great again!
ReplyDeleteDe Blasio is no micromanager. It is Carranza's show.
ReplyDeleteRace has everything to do with it. It's a crime to be white.
