Happy Father’s Day! Forgive for writing this, but perhaps it will help someone. My buddy, who’s big in NYC politics, just notified me NYS will be offering early retirement incentives to all civil service employees. However, it has to be hammered out with the unions in NYC. There are huge cuts for all NYC entities on the near horizon. Folks are looking at the DOE budget and it’s results. It will be gutted. It is seen as corrupt, a complete waste of money and an example of everything that is wrong with deBlasio’s NYC. Carranza, his employee friends and Bloomy’s feral fiends better get out now. If you are a teacher with under five - seven years in, prepare accordingly.
Happy Father's Day James! I thank you for all you do with this blog and putting up with all of us disgruntled teachers. After Chaz, passed I realized how much i look to these blogs to keep me connected to a larger teaching community. Even if we all don't see eye to eye on things we are all in this system together. Happy Father's Day to all the good dads out there and to all the father figures to many of our NYC students. ALP
