MORE called for a day of action today and there are schools responding. There are reports of protests at the Grace Dodge Campus, Murry Bergtraum HS, and PS 139 in Brooklyn. We will provide more details when we have them.
These pictures below are from Clara Barton HS. We have reports from two sources that it was not cleaned over the weekend. We are not blaming any cleaner or custodian. They have been told to do two or three times more work with the same budget as last year. They can only do so much.
Does anyone at this point believe this huge school system with over 1,000 buildings is safe from a deadly airborne virus?
mayor doesnt care if you get sick, says you will get over it.
ReplyDeleteNYCMayor says that for school staff who test positive for coronavirus, it's a "very temporary reality." Think that might sound kind of tone deaf to teachers, considering the virus kills people and death is permanent.
Who will infect other people...
ReplyDelete"Let's talk about an obvious reality, some people will test positive," @BilldeBlasio says.
Prediction, no matter what happens in the next 5 days, mulgrew will have us all walking into buildings this week and next.
ReplyDeleteHe didnt even see that angry mulgrew video.
ReplyDelete"I did not see the video." --
@NYCMayor
NYCMayor doesn't seem to care that some people will have lifelong damage from covid.
ReplyDeleteHe can't leave City Hall quickly enough for this city. He is an awful leader, an awful politician and an awful human being.
Wait..Did @NYCMayor actually say, “We have to remember that for the very small percentage of people who test positive for the coronavirus, it is a very temporary reality." Is the mayor not aware that 194K Americans have died of Covid-19 & 32,629 NYers? Is that temporary?? @UFT twitter.com/morecaucusuft/…
How ironic—Clara Barton HS—the school named after the nurse that helped create the Red Cross, a 19th century Civil Rights advocate and a teacher too- can’t believe it has not been cleaned—and they probably don’t have an on-sight DOE nurse as well.
ReplyDeleteDeBlasio saying that testing positive for Covid is a ‘temporary reality’—sounds just like something Trump would say—and don’t be surprised if it’s mentioned at the next Trump press conference or finds its way into a Trump TV campaign ad.
ReplyDeleteThis is how it started in march. It's exponential. Went from 2 to 4 to 11 to 24 to 55 in a matter of 7 days this past week.
ReplyDeleteTrump, Cuomo, the Blasio, and Mulgrew have the same modus operandi. I have to laugh when I hear them attack Trump for lying, cheating and treating people like fools.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know if I am contractually obligated to be posted in a hallway for arrival and dismissal? Considering we are supposed to be as separated as possible this seems like another dangerous situation.
ReplyDeleteWhat is your c6 4:03?
ReplyDeleteI probably should know this but what is a c6?
ReplyDeletenot sure if this is helping but i am a cluster teacher, other teachers who either have a blended class or are also a cluster have been assigned posts in the hallway to assist with arrival and dismissal throughout the building.
Only certain elementary schools have c6. I should have asked your level.
ReplyDeleteContract Article 7C4c concerns cluster teachers. You teach twenty 45 minute periods, then you have preps like everyone else. Then, Article 7C4d5 says, "The other periods in the cluster teacher's program shall be devoted to professional activities to be assigned by the principal." Hall duty is administrative, not professional. I would say this violates the Contract.
