CUOMO'S POLL NUMBERS PLUMMET AT LAST

Should the UFT and NYSUT be calling for Cuomo's impeachment/resignation after three sexual harassment complaints and the deadly nursing home scandal?

The governor's latest poll numbers from WPIX have finally dipped drastically so he is underwater.

Cuomo’s approval rating has tanked among voters in New York, with about 48% disapproving of the governor. While 38% approve of the job he is doing.

As a comparison, 52% of people approve of the job President Joe Biden is doing. While 33% of people disapprove of President Joe Biden.

It is the nursing home scandal that is the biggest problem for Cuomo according to the poll.

Watch Assemblyman Ron Kim today on Rising talk about Cuomo's abuse of power with the nursing home scandal and sexual harassment. Kim says Cuomo put the interests of his large donors ahead of peoples' lives with the liability shield for nursing home executives Cuomo slipped into last year's budget bills. Cuomo then covered up information about COVID-19 deaths in nursing homes from the federal government.

  3. My thought: For once, NYS finally gave us a decent eval system for this year. That being said, I really don't give a rats ass what happens to Cuomo as I think he is simply not going to be bothered with doing much in regards to education while he is on the hot seat.

  4. The UFT doesn’t have backbone. Mulgrew was afraid to even utter Trump’s name. Cuomo is everything he claimed Trump was - lying, cheating, bully and serial pervert. Go ahead Mulgrew show us you still have a set - I heard Randi has them in her key chain.

    1. To be fair, mulgrew knew there are a lot of Trump supporters within our union.

  5. Regarding the evaluation system, remember 1 observation is the minimum. APs can do as many as they want on you if they choose. The UFT should fight for a cap on the number of observations you can receive especially if you are tenured.

Well there aren’t many Cuomo supporters in our union, so what will his reason be this time? Whatever it is, it will be an excuse not to upset a bully that might beat us up. Time to stand up to the bully and pull our support. Cuomo is no friend to NYC public school teachers.

  7. I know this might sound cruel but I am glad that Cuomo is sweating it out now. Remember when he screwed us by giving us 4 observations instead of 2 a few years back? I sure remember as do a lot of other NYC teachers. Payback is a bitch.

  8. Sadly, Cuomo has never been a friend to municipal workers. Apparently he hasn't been a friend to many, as there are so few who will defend him.

  9. Nyer's keep voting for Cuomo and people just like him and Ufters keep voting for mulgrew. Everybody is getting exactly what they deserve. When Cuomo spent tax dollars changing the name of a bridge that didnt need to be renamed for his daddy and then put together a commission to fight corruption which was his election promise. Once elected he immediately disbanded it when they were about to name his friends and maybe him in corrupt deals and nobody said a word. No doubt in my mind he would definitely get re-elected today if there was an election because even with his current low poll numbers when people get in the booth they will still vote for him and his kind.

  11. Actually, the UFT should come out with some type of statement condemning sexual harassment -even if they don’t want to anger King Cuomo. Sexual harassment of teens by other teens in middle and high school is almost openly tolerated. No suspensions or even shaking a finger to say no,no. Schools do nothing other than offering school safety transfers to the aggrieved party. There are also teachers that are sexually harassed by students that all too often look to the union for help. Unfortunately, the problem and blame is then often thrown onto the teacher and made worse by the UFT intervention (email informing principal).

  12. Cuomo is a transactional politician.
He respects money and his donors.
He does not respect the dignity, health or safety of non-donors and poor people.

    Cuomo is a vindictive bully.
    Cuomo does not respect woman.

Cuomo is power hungry and dangerous.
He is very similar to Donald Trump.

  14. There is not one ny democrat who will do right by ny teachers. All they do is lie to get your vote. I'd rather have a republican governor who lowers my taxes and who rejects woke bullshit than another democrat who is just as anti teacher as any republican. They are all the same when it comes to teachers. That's why I select a candidate based on other issues that are important to me and started voted for republicans over democrats.

  15. James, what is your assessment of Biden so far?

  16. Hahaha 17 million Americans no longer eligible for 1400$ stimulus checks thanks to Biden. Trump didn't do that. Biden did. 17 million more Americans got checks under Trump. Hahaha suckers.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Actually, Biden didn't do anything with the $1400, he said he would support it if that's what it takes to get passed, which means it's the congresspeople who want that. Man, we need some civic courses asap!

  18. lol trump and republicans wanted to stop at 600 dollars.....now you're complaining who gets the 1400? hahahahahah

  19. Even the great CHAZ 🙏🙏 said 3 months before he died if Biden or Bloomberg become nominee vote for neither and for trump, boy do I miss him. James is amazing; Chaz in my opinion gets it more 🤣.

EXPOSED: CUOMO, DIBLASIO, CARRANZA, MULGREW. Pandemic totally exposed what the woke people already knew for a long time of these scum bags!

Why don't chapter leaders set up district zoom meets april-may for all boroughs and our members to come together with a tight list of what we need to be done.

  20. Things sure have changed fast for Cuomo. Just last May—at the top of his game as he became the daily darling of the media. Just 10 months later—fighting for his political existence. If he was ever at one time ever thinking of running for a 4th term—forget about it. Think of it as the curse of the 3rd term and maybe there should be a 2 term limit .

  21. Former US Attorney Preet Bhara had Cuomo on the ropes as he investigated and eventually brought charges on the Governor’s own potential corruption about 8 years ago when Cuomo abruptly decided to end the Moreland Commission. Bhara hinted that Cuomo could have coerced his staff and other appointed people to clam up during the investigation and the Governor was cleared. He’s hoping that Cuomo doesn’t do that stuff again.

  23. 12:38 No civics courses needed. Biden stumped for Georgia senate race by swearing $2000 checks. Biden aka the head of the democrat party broke his promise. Maxine Waters just downsized the finance committee to dump Katie Porter who grilled the greedy. The swamp is back.
2:05 The stimulus checks are based on 2019 income. If you lost your income in 2020 you don't qualify for the next round. So yeah some of those people need money. Biden broke his promise and suckered voters.

  25. Anon2323 lied.

I normally wouldn't pay attention to the anonymous scum who comment here, but he's defamed the memory of Eric Chasanoff.

    Someone has to say something.

Chaz never wrote that he would vote for Trump. He would not have.

His memory should not be allowed to be stained with such a vile accusation.

    Jonathan Halabi
who often disagreed with Eric, but would never lie about him.

  26. Jonathan, Anon 2323 pretty much cited Chaz accurately. Anon 2323 is someone who I fundamentally disagree with on politics but he does have a right to an opinion. I don't think calling him scum is accurate.

Let's go to what Eric wrote in February 2020:

"I'd rather vote for Donald Trump, who's education agenda has been ineffective as long as the Democrats still hold the House of Representatives than Michael Bloomberg,

If either Joe Biden or Michael Bloomberg become the Presidential candidate, neither one will get my vote."

That was pre-pandemic so he may have changed his mind but Eric was an avowed centrist.

    http://chaz11.blogspot.com/2020/02/biden-or-bloomberg-for-president.html?m=1

As for Chaz and me being better or worse, we had different perspectives but it was never a competition. We were friends and colleagues. I wish I could talk to him. We miss his analysis.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I read part of that piece by chaz, and understood him to say he would sit it out in that case:

"If either Joe Biden or Michael Bloomberg become the Presidential candidate, neither one will get my vote."

    That's his conclusion.

As far as 2323, his comments speak for themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Chaz didn't say he would sit it out. He said he won't vote for Biden or Bloomberg and would vote for Trump over Bloomberg. I am glad we have the quote.

  30. James thanks for coming to my defense, Johnathan needs to settle down a tad. Go after scum Mulgrew with that energy. It's healthy to debate both sides of our coin, even though it is becoming more difficult to see anything on the left-liberal front that makes sense.

I have been correct on my politics and comments whether it was going after Diblasio, Cuomo, Biden, Russia hoax, impeachments, Kavanaugh. I predicted there will be no more snow days a long time ago and I appreciate James citing that I was the one to have said it.

It is safe to say my credibility holds weight. I mean absolutely no disrespect to Chaz and James knows. I have been following his blog since 2008 and still hurts that his wisdom is not among us at such a pivotal moment in time. It is fair to say if Chaz would not vote for Biden he could vote for Trump, is that really out of the realm of reality Johnathan?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Chaz knew how to construct a declarative sentence. He was, after all, a tv journalist before he became a teacher. And there is a clear sentence in his 2/2/20 piece: "If either Joe Biden or Michael Bloomberg become the Presidential candidate, neither one will get my vote."

Not what he'd rather, but what he'd do. The previous sentence does not show his intent, but his absolute disgust with Biden.

Chaz's politics were consistent. I often disagreed with him. But I remember us ending up in the same place, for different reasons, four years earlier.

    http://chaz11.blogspot.com/2016/10/why-i-m-not-voting-for-president.html

I have no idea why racists and Trumpies and anti-union types like commenting on this blog. The actual posts seem to come from an ally. This space is hostile territory.

    ReplyDelete
  32. @Jonathan,
People from all spectrums like to comment here, because it is where one can express their opinions and views openly. I honestly don’t see that with the most of the other Education blogs advertised by Chaz’s site. it’s all well and fine, if you agree with the author, but once you don’t, you’re ignored, insulted or barred outright. Your characterization of most of the people on here is woefully incorrect. There are those on here that have voted for Trump, myself included, but I’m not a Trumpie. Trump is a crazed buffoon, but he was a better candidate than Biden. I haven’t change my opinion, so far. As for racism, yes there has been a ridiculous amount in the past, but I don’t see that anymore. As for anti-union types? The people on here, for the most part are very pro-union, but very anti-UFT. There is a significant difference. We will have to start tolerating differences again. I believe Trump was a product of our intolerance, not a result of it. I think blogs like this one are very helpful and make a real difference. I don’t know what James’ figures are, but I believe this blog is very popular. Chaz was very similar in the way he allowed people to express themselves and most of his readers are now here. The UFT could go along way to quelling discontent and getting people to re-join and/or not to drop out by giving teachers a voice. - The Anonymous Scum

  33. Let us not forget that it was Cuomo who championed giving Eva Moskowitz and her other charter cronies access to the castle by forcing NYC to PAY for the rent of charter schools if no space available in school buildings....

Cuomo was flooded with MONEY by the charter donators at the time and he said screw public schools by forcing scab charter schools into our buildings pushing our students and staff around like puppet dolls and forcing NYC to pay the rent of charter schools around the city who could not JAM into the school buildings. Yeah I think we need a change Cuomo your act is just about up.

  34. ok Johnathan, your skeleton racist just said in a townhall black and brown do not even know to use the internet to get a vaccine. Or desegregation would cause a racial jungle or you "ain't black" if you do not support him just to name a few.

Just like Chaz, I have disgust for Biden like most people here who have a brain.

Put your pissed-off energy into organizing chapter leaders and teachers to mobilize and fight to make a better change. Clearly, your dem leaders Cuomo, Diblasio, Carranza, and Mulgrew who hopefully all will be finito. They ruined the city and damaged the DOE further.

  35. We will never know how Chaz would have voted in 2020 but I think we can all agree that we wish we could have Chaz around to tell us if he would have sat out the presidential election, voted for Biden or Trump.

  36. Once the left labels you a Nazi white supremacist for voting Republican is “scum” something that can really hit a nerve. Nope. I’m so indifferent to cries of racism these days. I just assume everyone labeled a racist is really a great guy that the left just doesn’t like. The boy who cried racism... no one outside the left believes these accusations anymore even if true. I’ll never take these type of accusations seriously again because the boy crying racism is usually a racist himself. I agree with “anonymous scum” at 950. Well said.

  39. What makes a commenter a racist, Jonathan? The fact that their politics differs from yours? Lefties are so used to being the only activists. 42. Stop fighting. The topic is Cuomo's sinking numbers. Like Bronx ATR said, the UFT should come out with an anti-sexual harassment statement. UFT can start to position the union on the high ground. The governor can be put on notice that the UFT won't be pushed around. Even the blog "opt outter" does better when the UFT is strong. Maybe we can get seniority transfers, no standardized testing, or even a higher percentage from the retirement savings plan. Think big everyone.
