I don’t think anyone who reads this blog votes Unity. Wonder how the Florida retirees are going to react. The most vocal teachers from my school always retired to Florida.
Today was wonderful!!! Each speaker and performer was excellent and it all moved along at a good pace! Now, next steps.
Naomi's suggestions sent be Denise would be excellent to send out to all attendees with a few other steps they can take for now, like signing the petition (sending the link) and contacting union officers. We can say we'll stay in touch with further actions organized by us coming up in the next weeks and thanking them for coming out today. The main thing they can do, of course, is to spread word of today's event to friends and colleagues - former and current.
Thanks but not everyone has a Facebook account. Petition should be available elsewhere. I’m not creating a Facebook account and know other ‘fuck big tech’ people who won’t either.
Thé FB page is not the pétition although it has a link to it. The FB page is to offer a meeting place for all of the retirees who would be affected by this Medicare Advantage proposal. It’s forming a community to share information, strategy, and questions. It’s a good thing, even if you don’t care for FB. Do you know another way to bring us all together? It’s an invitation. People are glad that it’s there to turn to. Come see. https://www.facebook.com/groups/preservemedicarepartbfornycretirees/

Thank you Retiree Advocate.
ReplyDeleteUm, I didnt see the uft president there.
ReplyDeleteIs this change 100% including retired cops? I don’t think it is. Cops don’t get pushed around like this. The politicians leave them alone.
ReplyDeleteThe police are part of the MLC.
ReplyDeleteRetirees,
ReplyDeleteFight this change with all you have got.
You will not be able to keep your doctors.
You will not be given the same coverages.
You are being cheated and lied to by Mulgrew.

ReplyDeleteNice work y'all! James and other retirees, I mean.
ReplyDeleteNot me, it was Gloria. I just spread the word.
