10:51 "kayleigh would have rocked this one". You say the other woman is a paid actor and you want to see Kayleigh, the professional liar and propagandist. Kayleigh spews lies without batting an eye. Camille did a wonderful job defending her position and it was the stronger one because it's based on common sense, safety, and truth. And yes, she's very articulate. And as she said it is the best we have right now and with that comes some risk but the situation without the vaccine is untenable.
Camille is arguing facts and figures, and the other woman is arguing about coddling those who are afraid. "Give the a remote option, help them to understand". Isn't that special. They've had all summer to educate themselves, and if they don't trust the vaccine, even with very good reasons, then they don't need to work in a building overcrowded with students.
Last year the in-person teachers picked up a lot of the slack for the remote teachers. With more of the students in the building, that's just not happening. If you can't do the job, take a leave, that might be a compromise over losing your job altogether.

10:41 - The drama. The enemy is the virus, not your majority, vaccinated co-workers or those trying to contain the virus. People didn't "sacrifice liberty". The majority vaccinated voluntarily and others were trying desperately to find where they could get the shot. Those who refuse don't have to sacrifice their liberty, because they're not being imprisoned for not vaccinating. they may just have to sacrifice their paycheck.
@10:55 - the Eternos have young children at home. They're not allowed to have an opinion on this matter. Only yours and the anti-mandaters matter? CNN interviewed two teachers, one for and one against. How is it anyone's fault that the anti-mandate argument was lame and weak. And let's not forget whiney. Seems like she just wanted for the DOE to accommodate their fears. She's had enough time for that, and it's a business and students have to get back to school.
TJL- I don't intend any disrespect, but I wonder what your perception of driving safety laws are (seatbelt, DWI, etc.) More to the topic, are mask mandates an infringement on freedom in your opinion? Regards. -- Dawkins
Dawkins: Seat belt laws are absurd. As for DWI, checkpoints are not Constitutional, but of course if there's probable cause (driver all over the road) of course he should be pulled over, tested, and jailed if guilty. I think the mask mandates are an infringement as well but are the lesser of two evils when considering forced vaccines. At least a mask can be taken off.
We need to unions.one with for mulgrew and the mandaters, since he represents ypu and your woje pitics.a nrw union that fights for our rights without woke politics.look at biden.want another 911 thanks to your guru biden?
After more than a year of studying the effects of the vaccine, NO long-term side effects have been found.
If you or someone you know is hesitant, encourage them to talk to a medical professional about the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine. More info on chi.gov/covidvax.
Some facts
The COVID vaccine works. Need proof?
✅99.6% of fully vax'd Chicagoans have not tested positive for COVID ✅99.99% fully vax'd Chicagoans have not been hospitalized for COVID ✅99.998% fully vax'd Chicagoans have not died due to COVID
@12:45 if being for the mandate is "woke politics", then I guess being against it is "right wing propaganda/politics". But do go right ahead and start your own union. The constant whining about vaccines or masks, or self-reporting is tiresome.
Those that already got covid this spring and have no comorbidities don't need double vax now to be protected or protect those in room with them.
The data says they even if some might benefit a bit, it would only be 1 dose to get best effect. Follow the current data. Those recently sick should have option to get tested and/or get only 1 dose of vax.
Option to be tested by place like igenex for antibodies out of pocket. This would at least show the union is giving some options.
It's not about what sci and data shows if we treat those already that had covid as just any anti vax. Simple?
Researchers say people who’ve had COVID-19 but remain unvaccinated are more likely to develop the disease again than those who’ve been vaccinated. They note that people who developed COVID-19 last year probably didn’t have the Delta variant. They add that there’s a possibility that people who’ve had COVID-19 may need only one dose of vaccine, although that issue needs more study.
People who have recovered from COVID-19 and are leaning on their post-illness immunity rather than opting for a vaccine might want to take note.
A new report from the U.S. Centers for the Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) states that those who do not get vaccinated after the illness are nearly two and half times more likely to develop COVID-19 again.
"One of the more common talking points among those who refuse to get vaccinated and/or refuse to wear mask protections is that they're making a personal choice. It is, the argument goes, a private matter, to be left to individuals and their consciences. They say that if they want to take risks, that's up to them -- and they're prepared to accept the consequences as private citizens, come what may.
And if those who contract the virus were somehow hidden away, alone in their bedrooms, this might even be somewhat persuasive."
Those who believe they're taking a personal risk are actually creating a societal hazard -- one that, among other things, fills hospitals and delays medical care for everyone in the community, whether they've tested positive or not.
When areas run out of intensive-care-unit beds, which has happened too often in recent weeks, it obviously affects COVID-19 patients in extreme distress. But it also affects those who have heart attacks. And strokes. And who get into car accidents. And who get shot because they happen to go to a grocery store at the wrong time."
"When U.S. Army veteran Daniel Wilkinson started feeling sick last week, he went to the hospital in Bellville, Texas, outside Houston. His health problem wasn't related to COVID-19, but Wilkinson needed advanced care, and with the coronavirus filling up intensive care beds, he couldn't get it in time to save his life.
"He loved his country," his mother, Michelle Puget, told "CBS This Morning" lead national correspondent David Begnaud. "He served two deployments in Afghanistan, came home with a Purple Heart, and it was a gallstone that took him out."
Last Saturday, Wilkinson's mother rushed him to Bellville Medical Center, just three doors down from their home.
"Kakli told Begnaud that his patient was dying right in front of him. Wilkinson needed a higher level of care, but with hospitals across Texas and much of the South overwhelmed with COVID patients, there was no place for him."
But for Wilkinson, help was still too far away." --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anti-mandaters don't like to hear it, but their decision to not vaccinate is affecting the rest of the country.
@6:07 see, that's the thing about opinions, we all have them. I know people who would rather vaccinate than wear a mask. It impedes their breathing, caused at least one person to go to the emergency room, and they were NOT able to get an accommodation on masks. I disagree that masks are the lesser of two evils.
Masks are so needed to stop the spread and save lives Yet as the same time NYC is allowing the US OPEN tennis to be played with no masks and no vax checks. Tens of thousands of people sitting and sweating together. Regardless of your stance the hypocrisy is very alarming and should make people question what the government is doing and why most people are so quick to follow what they say.
The CDC reports demographic characteristics, including race/ethnicity, of people receiving COVID-19 vaccinations at the national level. As of August 16, 2021, CDC reported that race/ethnicity was known for 58% of people who had received at least one dose of the vaccine. Among this group, nearly two thirds were White (58%), 10% were Black, 17% were Hispanic, 6% were Asian, 1% were American Indian or Alaska Native, and <1% were Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander, while 8% reported multiple or other race. However, CDC data also show that recent vaccinations are reaching larger shares of Hispanic, Asian, and Black populations compared to overall vaccinations.
I went on the CNN website and the interview is there on the front page. Big time. I'll say this about Camille, if James will post it. She was really a warrior on the front lines. At one point she went through her own stuff with some psychotic Admins but you would never know it. She never griped, never whined, never looked sad. She just handled her business and rumor has it, she won all her challenges. And every day, every goddamn day, she gave it her all for the students. Neither one of us are still at that particular place but it looks like she's happy and she's still kicking azz. Don't let the soft demeanor fool you. She's not a loudmouth, but she fights with facts.
Camille handled the attacks from administration with great dignity but never stopped fighting back on behalf of herself, her chapter, or the students.
There were some in the UFT who were quite helpful and went above and beyond for Camille while others barely lifted a finger to support the chapter or Camille.
Those rumors you mention are facts. Camille's ratings were changed and her file was cleared and she has happily moved on.
"As of Saturday, teens ages 16 and 17 had the highest rate of infection among all age groups, according to a CNN analysis of data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Cases overall have surged across the US, with the daily average of newly reported infections surpassing 155,000"
Right wing political leaders in the south doing their best to stem the spread of the virus (NOT):
“I talked with principals today and we all agreed that, though it is a small gesture, you would enjoy the liberty of wearing jeans for the next month. So, by all means, please enjoy your jeans throughout the month of September (and the rest of August).”
If Wilson had meant his email to quiet the growing anger among his employees, it did just the opposite.
“It was super offensive,” one teacher at a school in the district.
Since the unvaccinated feel totally safe, and think this is all overblown, are opposed to vaccine mandates, and acknowledge that the vaccinated can shed the virus just as easily, I propose that the unvaccinated work in-person, while the vaccinated work remotely, if remote is going to be on the table. What say the unvaccinated?
1201 Biden, Fauci discuss requiring COVID booster shots every 5 months...PFHIZER IS IN IT FOR THE MONEY
would you be shocked if THEY WILL REQUIRE THE BOOSTER SHOTS FOR THE REST OF YOUR CAREER..BE CAREFUL..THIS IS A SLIPPERY SLOPE...NO UNION DUES FROM ME IF THE UFT REFUSES TO PROTECT ALL THEIR MEMBERS
All of you talk about a union... We have shit... They are no better than the mafia, the bratva, or the various gangs of New York City or Long Island. Holding your dues won't get you anywhere... They know they have some newbies coming in to replace your hold. They are extortionists, they pillage what they can and as much as they want. Mulgrew is just a reincarnation of Capone in the 21st century.
9:16 who said we have no concern about catching covid?iam the poster child for masking, distancing, and avoiding risky situations.that is not what we are saying Did u know that gulf war syndrome was caused by the experimental anthrax shot?mandated, covered up.if a person is willing to modify their behavior, they can greatly reduce their risk.btw, phizer shor renamed isxa legal maneuver to avoid liability.one is approved, the other isnt! I too am alarmed with this 5 month payout crap. I am considering retirement BUT if these mandates will end up being for everyone or else you lose access to everything, then it doesnt matter cuz there is no way out unless you are a rich tycoon.scary times we live in.just curious how long the court challenges will take till resolved. Also, doe lists many conditions that students can have to get approved foe remote instruction.seizures is one, which is very common.i wonder if many parents get remote.if that happens, it would reduce the numver of in-person, but no idea if it would make a difference in distancing.
753 any otc meds for covid variants yet? how many decades of immune growth do we have for covid variants? maybe we should think about doing more to protect health regarding flu as well, instead of just watching it be out of control.
"However, as COVID-19 is much more contagious, its total harms for children exceed that of the flu, a very simple point that often eludes those who compare these diseases.
Comparisons between the flu and COVID-19 are confounded by the fact that much of normal life was suspended the past year and masks were ubiquitous. These measures lowered the transmission of both diseases. Therefore, the most meaningful comparison between the two diseases is the past year. The numbers couldn’t be clearer. According to the CDC, 490 children under age 17 years have died of COVID-19 in the US. This number was derived from an analysis of 83% of the total number of COVID-19 deaths, so the actual number of pediatric deaths is certainly a bit higher than this.
In contrast, the CDC reported that just one child died of the flu during the 2020-2021 flu season. Those who compare the two diseases curiously omit this fact. Even in previous years, the flu killed less children than COVID-19. According to the CDC:"
"While the number of children killed by the flu would certainly be higher without the flu vaccine, promoting flu vaccination is unfortunately not the goal of people who compare it to COVID-19. This highlights an interesting fact – most people who compare these diseases ignore their most crucial similarities. Both diseases can kill hundreds of children per year. Both diseases can send tens of thousands children to the hospital, some needing ICU-level care. Both diseases can be largely prevented with a tragically underused vaccine."
The data show there have been fewer childhood deaths from COVID-19 so far this year than from the seasonal flu.
The hold-up, of course, lies in nuance, said Dr. Jon Temte, associate dean for public health and community engagement within UW-Madison’s School of Medicine and Public Health.
"U.S. schools have been out (and) mostly closed since March, thus extremely limiting cases of SARS-CoV-2 in children. Conversely, we rarely close schools for influenza, thus allowing an attack rate of 30-40% in school-aged children,"
"Dr. Vidya Mony, an infectious disease expert with Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, Calif., said there isn’t enough data yet to say indisputably that COVID risks are lower for kids.'
"But experts caution that we don’t have enough data to paint the full picture so early in the game, and that schools shutting down in early spring may have driven down coronavirus case rates in children — meaning we can’t be sure exactly how the virus will move through young people when more of them are potentially getting exposed."

ReplyDeleteBRAVO 👏
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Mrs. Eterno.
ReplyDeleteNobody wants you unvaccinated to go to jail. We don't want you near our kids who can't be vaccinated.
ReplyDelete@10:55 - the Eternos have young children at home.
ReplyDelete@12:28pm...
DeletePls don't encourage 10:55 to respond.
TJL-
ReplyDeleteI don't intend any disrespect, but I wonder what your perception of driving safety laws are (seatbelt, DWI, etc.)
More to the topic, are mask mandates an infringement on freedom in your opinion?
Regards.
-- Dawkins
Dawkins: Seat belt laws are absurd. As for DWI, checkpoints are not Constitutional, but of course if there's probable cause (driver all over the road) of course he should be pulled over, tested, and jailed if guilty.
DeleteI think the mask mandates are an infringement as well but are the lesser of two evils when considering forced vaccines. At least a mask can be taken off.
Rachel manascalco publicly quit uft after kane.3000 expexted to follow.gee maybe we will get a new union but not how we anticipated.sad day.
ReplyDeleteWe need to unions.one with for mulgrew and the mandaters, since he represents ypu and your woje pitics.a nrw union that fights for our rights without woke politics.look at biden.want another 911 thanks to your guru biden?
ReplyDeleteFrom Chicago:
ReplyDeleteAfter more than a year of studying the effects of the vaccine, NO long-term side effects have been found.
If you or someone you know is hesitant, encourage them to talk to a medical professional about the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine. More info on chi.gov/covidvax.
Some facts
The COVID vaccine works. Need proof?
✅99.6% of fully vax'd Chicagoans have not tested positive for COVID
✅99.99% fully vax'd Chicagoans have not been hospitalized for COVID
✅99.998% fully vax'd Chicagoans have not died due to COVID
(Data thru 8/25, by @ChiPublicHealth)
@12:45 if being for the mandate is "woke politics", then I guess being against it is "right wing propaganda/politics". But do go right ahead and start your own union. The constant whining about vaccines or masks, or self-reporting is tiresome.
ReplyDeleteThose that already got covid this spring and have no comorbidities don't need double vax now to be protected or protect those in room with them.
ReplyDeleteThe data says they even if some might benefit a bit, it would only be 1 dose to get best effect.
Simple?
My source is Healthline:
ReplyDeletehttps://www.healthline.com/health-news/people-whove-had-covid-19-should-still-get-vaccinated-heres-why
You only hear info that aligns with your beliefs. Anything else is dismissed. That is the mark of an ignoramus
Delete"One of the more common talking points among those who refuse to get vaccinated and/or refuse to wear mask protections is that they're making a personal choice. It is, the argument goes, a private matter, to be left to individuals and their consciences. They say that if they want to take risks, that's up to them -- and they're prepared to accept the consequences as private citizens, come what may.
ReplyDeleteAnd if those who contract the virus were somehow hidden away, alone in their bedrooms, this might even be somewhat persuasive."
TJL @ 1041. Bravo brother!
ReplyDeleteMrs. Eterno, Powerful and wonderful advocate!
ReplyDeleteROFLMAO @ 2:47. Unbelievable.
ReplyDelete@2:52 pm...
DeleteIt's like being on a non stop merry go round. I'm too old for that sh^t. Jeez. Lmao
ReplyDelete"He loved his country," his mother, Michelle Puget, told "CBS This Morning" lead national correspondent David Begnaud.
But for Wilkinson, help was still too far away."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anti-mandaters don't like to hear it, but their decision to not vaccinate is affecting the rest of the country.
You're assuming all people against mandates are not vaccinated.
ReplyDelete@6:03 if the shoe doesn't fit, don't wear it.
ReplyDelete@6:07 see, that's the thing about opinions, we all have them. I know people who would rather vaccinate than wear a mask. It impedes their breathing, caused at least one person to go to the emergency room, and they were NOT able to get an accommodation on masks. I disagree that masks are the lesser of two evils.
ReplyDeleteMasks are so needed to stop the spread and save lives Yet as the same time NYC is allowing the US OPEN tennis to be played with no masks and no vax checks. Tens of thousands of people sitting and sweating together. Regardless of your stance the hypocrisy is very alarming and should make people question what the government is doing and why most people are so quick to follow what they say.
ReplyDeleteThe CDC reports demographic characteristics, including race/ethnicity, of people receiving COVID-19 vaccinations at the national level.
ReplyDeleteI went on the CNN website and the interview is there on the front page.
ReplyDeleteThat's great. Racial demographics is one thing. Political affiliations is another. Out of those 58% white, many of those are Liberals.
ReplyDelete6:47, Thanks from both Camille and me.
ReplyDeleteFrom me exclusively,
Camille handled the attacks from administration with great dignity but never stopped fighting back on behalf of herself, her chapter, or the students.
ReplyDeleteStill waters run deep. My kind of people.
ReplyDeleteWell, in honor of the uft not helping me for 22 years, my PE classes have the full 50 per class, in a very small gym. Safe.
ReplyDeleteBiden, Fauci discuss requiring COVID booster shots every 5 months https://trib.al/cip7Cpl
ReplyDeleteRight wing political leaders in the south doing their best to stem the spread of the virus (NOT):
ReplyDelete“I talked with principals today and we all agreed that, though it is a small gesture, you would enjoy the liberty of wearing jeans for the next month.
ReplyDeleteNot the sharpest tool in the shed, but then again so are most leftists
ReplyDelete1201
ReplyDeleteBiden, Fauci discuss requiring COVID booster shots every 5 months...PFHIZER IS IN IT FOR THE MONEY
would you be shocked if THEY WILL REQUIRE THE BOOSTER SHOTS FOR THE REST OF YOUR CAREER..BE CAREFUL..THIS IS A SLIPPERY SLOPE...NO UNION DUES FROM ME IF THE UFT REFUSES TO PROTECT ALL THEIR MEMBERS
@ 916AM I would do that with pleasure... Not even a question... Bring it on.
ReplyDeleteAll of you talk about a union...
ReplyDelete9:16 who said we have no concern about catching covid?iam the poster child for masking, distancing, and avoiding risky situations.that is not what we are saying
ReplyDeleteDid u know that gulf war syndrome was caused by the experimental anthrax shot?mandated, covered up.if a person is willing to modify their behavior, they can greatly reduce their risk.btw, phizer shor renamed isxa legal maneuver to avoid liability.one is approved, the other isnt!
Didnt even get to 8 month boosters and talking about 5 months??
ReplyDeleteHere is a study on vaccine protecting against infection better than having had COVID.

9:18 "Not the sharpest tool in the shed, but then again so are most leftists"
ReplyDeleteNow that is a profound, and impressive well-thought out response.
10:38 don't say "that's not what we're saying". Plenty have said it, even from their deathbeds in ICU.
ReplyDeleteThe rest of your post is indecipherable. I usually try, but, not today.
How about all the scardy cats stay home, including kids.vaxxed or not.homeschool, whatever, pods...
ReplyDelete@12:32 NOPE - the schools will be open for the students. They should homeschool while you collect a paycheck? That's rich.
ReplyDeleteThe flu kills more kids. If forced vaccines are about protecting kids, why aren’t we demanding all kids get flu shots?
ReplyDelete753 any otc meds for covid variants yet? how many decades of immune growth do we have for covid variants? maybe we should think about doing more to protect health regarding flu as well, instead of just watching it be out of control.
Delete"However, as COVID-19 is much more contagious, its total harms for children exceed that of the flu, a very simple point that often eludes those who compare these diseases.
ReplyDeleteComparisons between the flu and COVID-19 are confounded by the fact that much of normal life was suspended the past year and masks were ubiquitous.
Both diseases can be largely prevented with a tragically underused vaccine."
https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/covid-19-is-deadlier-than-the-flu-for-children/
And another:
ReplyDeleteThe data show there have been fewer childhood deaths from COVID-19 so far this year than from the seasonal flu.
