This is Michael Mulgrew's interview on NY 1:
The story
The head of the teachers’ union said while he is a big supporter of the COVID-19 vaccine, he takes major issue with the details of the city’s mandate for all DOE employees to get the shot.
“Where we ran into a problem — a big problem — was when the mayor announced it, and we went into impact bargaining, and they told us that even though people had a legal right to a medical accommodation or a medical exemption, that they would grant that, but still take them off of payroll. That was it for us,” Michael Mulgrew, the president of the United Federation of Teachers, said in an interview on “Mornings On 1.”
After pushing back against the city and going into mediation, the UFT’s case is now in arbitration.
Mulgrew accused the city of showing no regard for the work put in by teachers during the pandemic.
“To say that we were angry that the city tried to remove people from payroll—people who actually went into school last year without vaccines—just shows you their disregard for the great work that the teachers of New York City have done," Mulgrew said.
“It was ‘unfortunate,’ is I guess the kindest word for me to use right now, that the mayor took this position," he added.
The city’s Department of Education responded to Mulgrew's comments saying it will work with the UFT on a resolution.
“The health and safety of New York City children and the protection of our employees is at the core of the vaccine mandate. We will continue to negotiate with the UFT to reach a successful agreement because that is what’s best for our school communities," DOE Press Secretary Danielle Filson told NY1.
Mulgrew also said he doesn’t think the city’s plan for coronavirus testing in schools every other week is enough, stating it should happen weekly.
He also believes there will be more instances of virtual learning than the city is letting on.
“I have a feeling we’re going to have a lot more remote than City Hall is talking about right now,” he said.
While all 1.1 million students are expected back in public city schools in five days, each classroom must have a digital plan in place.
This looks like the usual manufactured outrage from Mulgrew. Kind of like last fall when Mulgrew blamed an arbitrator for delaying half of our final lump sum payment when in reality he agreed to delay our money. Now the supposed anger is over getting an exemption from vaccines for those who have medical issues so they are not taken off of payroll. The cynical part of me thinks the city-DOE are working this out behind the scenes and will have the arbitrator agreeing so Mulgrew can say he fought for the anti-vax mandate crowd.
We need much more information on remote learning. Mulgrew says he has a feeling we're going to have a lot more remote but why is there going to be a lot more remote learning? Are the UFT and city negotiating a remote option for every city family or is more remote just going to happen because so many kids and adults in schools catch COVID-19? My guess is it is the latter. I hope I'm wrong.
Please listen to the entire interview.
As always, Mulgrew is full of shit. His fake posturing, tough guy nonsense is garbage. He will do whatever the Mayor tells him to do.
ReplyDeleteCan people use CAR days if there is a medical concern? I have 200 CAR days but my medical concern would not be strong enough to get a medical leave, especially I am very close to retirement.
ReplyDeleteJoe here,
ReplyDeleteHaven't checked this blog in a while. I see nothing has changed.
Pretty sad actually.
I plan to listen to the nonsense the principal spews tomorrow about expectations, which is all nonsense, and leave by noon.
Prediction time: Students, for the most part, don't show up, I sit in a room by myself, I'm then told students have to be given a chance, even though I had nothing to do with them not showing up.
This is what the DOE wants.
Pin me, pay me.
Don't like it, fire me.
Why bother?
That is true. And with the one shot Billions that Biden has given, the Mayor is squandering away in his last days leaving a fiscal mess for the next administration. Hope it leads to an ERI next June.
DeleteJames, back to posting the positive uft stuff...
ReplyDeleteSo Mulgrew admits people will be infected, lots of people, and sends us to our death anyway. Typical uft. Pay dues everybody.
NY State COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate May Devastate Healthcare System | https://wibx950.com/new-york-state-covid-19-vaccine-mandate-may-devastate-the-healthcare-system/?utm_source=tsmclip&utm_medium=referral
ReplyDeleteImagine what it will do to other sectors?
NYPD and MTA now have a testing option. What are you waiting for Mulgrew?
School year 2021 2022 is already washed up.
ReplyDeleteWritings are on the walls already. Just another brick in the wall. I like the predictions since they are pretty accurate. Mostly high school kids will not show up and the graduation rate will be at an all time high. Deblasio and his new queen chancellor porterhouse will go on mid year and speak about the great courage our teachers displayed with our educational programs.
September 27th will come and go and they will push the date until October 27th to get your first shot and the carousel will go round and round to remind us that the circus is back in town. Have a great staff meeting everyone
ReplyDeleteSicne Mulgrew always claims we get great contracts, which is a nother lie, we get screwed by this rapid inflation.
In July, the Biden White House bragged about slightly lower prices for pork and beef.
Today, Press Sec and NEC Dir Brian Deese are highlighting the rising costs of pork and beef.
Get bad/no raises.
Get sent into covid infected buildings.
The list goes on and on.
What exactly is the uft doing for us?
Now that james posted this, what does he want us to do?
ReplyDeleteFake strike like last year?
Show fake anger like mulgrew did several times last year?
Opt out?
Continue to pay dues?
Walk out?
Be sheep?
Can't wait to hear the words of wisdom.
When we go back tomorrow, can secondary school principals order the unvaccinated staff and students to wear dunce caps?
ReplyDeleteBUT BUT BUT we got funding. Billions in funding. Look what it got us.
ReplyDeleteWe are vaccinated, not actively getting chemo/had solid organ transplant so not being sent to our death. Simple statistics.
ReplyDeleteThat said I agree with everything else. Frustrating but on our own again.
Bring own good masks, own HEPA purifiers, keep those windows open and you'll be ok. Nov/Dec? Yes scary but by then even younger kids can get vax...those not exposed in Sept, Oct
Can I get a medical note from my shrink saying I am not mentally well enough to teach now? I have more than 150 days in my CAR. I am 100% serious about this. Those are my days that I saved and I should be able to use them to prevent a mental breakdown from the stress of this job. (And it has nothing to do with COVID)
ReplyDeleteYes, you can take a leave. Apply on Solas with a letter from your doctor with a diagnosis, prognosis and return to work dat.
DeleteWhen Mulgrew says ‘I have a feeling’—what the hell does that mean? It’s like he’s doubting his own decisions and common sense thought process pertaining to the reopening of schools for both adults and children.—and he’s the leader of one of the so-called most powerful teacher unions in the country. This has to be because he is in the pocket of DeBlasio—who is desperate to get the city back to normalcy with schools reopening, Broadway theaters etc.
ReplyDeleteThere’s a lot of teachers quaking in their boots about having to come back. Some CNN likely have to GPS how to get to work. I’ll be putting earplugs in because I don’t want to hear my accommodated peers ( I wasn’t) talk about how they screwed around and just hit assign etc… Sounds like theft of services to me.
ReplyDeleteDidn't you hear, James' favorite president, that would be biden, not mulgrew, is putting out a 6 point covid plan tomorrow. Feel better?
ReplyDeleteBiden has a spotty record on COVID. He got the Vax rollout right but the CDC ended the indoor mask mandate way prematurely and Delta got going unchecked basically.. There is much more. He has done better than Trump but I don't want to debate it all night. I answered you, 541, now let's move on.
DeleteMore censoring from James. I though anti-mandaters can talk now. Where s rogan link?
ReplyDeleteJames is a fraud, a phony leftist that can't win an argument so he censors. Why such a coward James?
DeleteThese are the rules, 8:23 in case you are new:
Delete1- Stay on topic
2- Try to stay away from personal insults.
3-Back up information by linking only to reputable sources,no sources I wouldn't accept as a teacher.
4-Anti-union comments are not welcome. We had that debate and nobody moved anyone so we stopped wasting each other's time. We are contemplating ending the vax mandate vs anti-vax mandate comments too as nobody is persuading anyone and there is way too much bad blood.
We use Media Bias-Fact Check as our checker or otherwise, yes it is up to me to decide whether something is dark web and out of bounds.
If you don't like the comment rules, go elsewhere please. No need to lob insults. We certainly are not the only blog out there. Better still, start your own blog.
3:30: SOrry but if you have mental issues that bad that you can't even go to work, you need to leave the system.
ReplyDeleteLOL @ 2:25 "porterhouse". That's funny.
ReplyDeleteBetter? With numbers getting worse? Anyway, where are teachers supposed to eat lunch the next 180 days?
ReplyDelete2:57 are you sure you're a teacher? Students don't come back tomorrow. You would know that if you're a teacher.
ReplyDeleteBiden may not have a stellar record when it comes to COVID but it's much harder to contain a virus when your starting point is 400,000 and counting. ALL Democrat Presidents are handed a stinking pile of shit when they take office and then they're flogged every day as they try to dig us out of it. Better than Trump indeed. What Biden has not done is undermine science, medicine, precautions, safety measures and has been honest about the gravity of the situation once it became clear that the bigger issue after the vaccine was the anti-vaxx psychotics and propagandists. Once again, like every Democrat before him, he underestimated their evil intentions.
ReplyDeleteJames please tell me just 5 things Biden has done better than trump? Other than he is nicer to women and he doesn't discriminate at the border that's all for me 2 things
ReplyDeleteAs predicted, mulgrew and city have no response for how to handle students who won't wear a mask.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be nice if we knew what the policy was for dealing with this situation in our room come Monday.
Shrugging shoulders doesn't really work in the real world.
I am watching errol louis with the Chancellor...10% percent bi-weekly and she's referring to the children as "our babies." Some nerve. I guess it's ok since the chancellor won't be locked in the building all day or in a classroom with 34. Uft...silence.
ReplyDeleteUFT not doing the job...
ReplyDelete“Most schools don’t have an appropriate awareness of the added risk at mealtimes or any other time when students take off their masks” said Alex Huffman, an aerosol scientist & assoc prof at DU. “They need to be paying attention to that aspect.”
I'm going to email Michael Mulgrew to make him aware of the blatant censorship that has dominated this site in the name of the UFT. Who the hell do you think you are Eterno to silence opposition to your views? The very thing you have accused Mulgrew of in the past. Get your own site Eterno, you don't own the name UFT
ReplyDelete8:27, We are a Caucus of the UFT, not linked in any manner to the official UFT other than we are UFT members who would like to build a stronger union. You are quite welcome to go to Mulgrew. Oppose my views all you like. Just follow the rules.
DeleteYou lie to UFT members here saying we "don't follow the rules". That's a lie. And your behavior does nothing to build a stronger union, quite the opposite. You misrepresent NYC teachers and your blog is an embarrassment to us.
Delete@8:27pm is going to write to Michael Mulgrew about this blog. I'm sure you wrote to him about fake grades, made to go into a petri dish in march 2020 and abusive admin. Michael fixed all of these issues so im sure he will remove James from this blog. Pls let us all know Michael's response.
DeleteHahaha! What do you think Mulgrew is going to do? Watch out @8:27 is going to email Mulgrew. Oh no! Do you have any idea what you're talking about?
DeleteUm, where are the PD meetings tomorrow? I guess spreading staff out was forgotten alreday.
ReplyDeleteDo not trust anything Mulgrew says. It is always deceptive propaganda.
ReplyDeleteWatch what Mulgrew does. He has never acted in your best interest.
He has always done what the mayor wants.
Crybaby alert @ 8:23 and 8:27.
ReplyDeleteIt is deeply violent for
ReplyDeleteNYC Schools to refuse to provide a remote option, contrary to what so many other major cities are doing, and then weaponize the state against families who don’t feel safe sending their children to in-person learning.
If kids don't show up after a few weeks, chancellor Porter acknowledges that the Administration for Children's Services *could* get involved if the agency determines that parents are preventing kids from getting educated. Needless to say, this could get very messy quickly
Let's throw all the teachers, some vaccinated, some not, in the same room for a full day of pd.
ReplyDeleteYa that sounds like it's a smart idea
I wonder, if someone submitted a medical exemption, before deBlasio said that they would be taken off payroll after using up their CAR days, can they rescind their request?
ReplyDeleteDeBlasio has to be very incompetent, or very mean-spirited or both. I'm vaccinated so it doesn't affect me, but what would possess someone to wait until the eleventh hour to put these things in place? They're just now really pressing for students to vaccinate, and some students have health issues and are unable to get approve for Home Instruction, yet Mulgrew is still holding out hope for a larger remote option. What the hell is the delay on all this with school starting in a couple of days. This is such an outrage.
302,000 cases yesterday. Great job.
ReplyDelete@9:50 PM.
ReplyDeleteYou have it right. De Blasio is very incompetent and mean spirited.
He is known to be extremely lazy. He has a difficult time getting out of bed and to work on time. Also, he is a transactional politician who is always making shady deals with NY city real estate promoters. When he leaves office on December 31, 2021, New York city will be in much worse shape than when he started as mayor.
Sheesh dems didn’t trust the vaccine now they they do. They did it to themselves with their stupidity . I’m not black anymore since I voted Trump according to Biden. The best decision in my life was to leave the Democrats. Like Malcolm said they are wolves in sheep’s clothing
ReplyDeleteMiss Porterhouse Steak figures she can just use subs for 25% of the staff who stay out due to the mandate.does she really care that her "babies" would have no stability with roving subs?i thought SEL was related to stability.another phony pos.they are all the same.plus she does in school photo ops unmasked like her hot air dont reek...gmafb...disgusting.
ReplyDeleteAs he sets records for covid infections, more nonsense.
ReplyDeleteBroadly, here are 6 pillars Biden will lay out tomorrow: vaccinating the unvaccinated (which implies vaccine requirements), furthering protection for the vaccinated (booster shots), keeping schools open, increasing testing & masking, $ recovery & improving care for those w Covid.
James is basking in the hyped up hysteria over delta variant. Truth is case fatality rate is 99.9% and in actuality much lower because according cdc only 1 in 10 cases is actually reported. You're going to feel pretty stupid James when time passes and that catastrophe you predict dosnt happen.
ReplyDeleteI will feel relieved and grateful if everything goes well and there are few outbreaks from the schools. I like to error on the side of safety for kids and adults. Truth is 1,500 deaths per day in the USA as a 7-day average. I hope and pray that the crowd who says Delta is no big deal are right but they have been wrong throughout the pandemic mostly.
ReplyDeleteBy contrast to those 1,500 a day who died from COVID this past week, 90 die from car accidents in the US.
https://www.thewanderingrv.com/car-accident-statistics/
2:57. Yes we can be ordered to wear dunce caps but it will only be teachers. The nyc doe will allow COVID, Ebola, and any other infected student and parent spit on you if they feel like it. Then the doe will tell you you deserved it. Letts face it. The kids are going to spread COVID since there’s more of them than us and the die will hide it like they always do.
ReplyDeleteHeart disease kills about 1700 per day. https://www.cdc.gov/heartdisease/facts.htm . Looks like Bloomberg was the best mayor. He was the only one trying to control what we eat. Maybe he’ll run again and get the UFT endorsement. Lots of teachers love having the government look out for our safety like Mike Bloomberg tried to do. If he were catholic, I’d ask the pope to consider sainthood.
Joe here,
ReplyDeleteOn my way home at 1230 PM. Nothing going on anyway.
They out us all in a packed auditorium.
I sat in the hallway.
Off to a good start.
Where is the well paid uft, james?
Opening or closing schools because of COVID has always been a political decision. Working parents need child care. Politics demands the needs of these voters must be met. Elite private schools remained open. Wake up. They kept the rich white schools open and cheated the poor mostly non white kids. Racist agenda up and running. No end in sight.
ReplyDeleteI respectfully stayed out of the post you asked btw.
ReplyDeleteJames very quick response, no way Biden has done better than Trump. Trump got the vaccine!!! Millions would be dead under Biden, cut that crap out! Biden is indefensible like your CNN watching liberals.
@7:46 100% right delta has not been what James and media hyping ut up to be and in due time will be frowned upon for all this fear propaganda.
How are we to trust a vaccine that is already on it's 4th booster in Israel with close to 70% vaccinated?
9:04
ReplyDeleteGiven the well documented waning effects of the vaccine, the vaccinated folks (especially the older set) has absolutely no idea if they are still immune. Hence all the booster talk.
And that is beyond the fact that vaccinated/immune folks are infected and transmit with regularity.
So, it is a mess and vaccine status and vaccine percentage has little effect on safety.
The Veteran Teacher, Vaccinated status has a great deal of effect on safety. Why do you think we are doing everything possible to Vax everyone?
ReplyDeleteOn the same day the Biden DOJ sues over the TX abortion ban in order to push the concept of "your body, your choice," Biden is announcing he'll bully you into getting a vaccine you might not want or need.
ReplyDeleteBiden campaigned on not taking the vaccine from the Trump administration. Now he demands you take it or be fired. On July 4 he said we were beating the virus. Infections have never been higher. He said he would crush the virus. Infections have never been higher. Mandate on me, but nothing on illegals, who have been carrying the virus. Oh, ok.
ReplyDeleteMario because the virus needs to be smuggled in and citizenship is what makes one a carrier or not? Such highly sensible reasoning as to why things are so bad!
DeleteJames - My point was that (given the waning effects of the vaccine as noted in our president's public booster shot discussions, the upcoming CDC/FDC booster approvals, and Israel's experience and data) the "fully vaccinated" are not necessarily immune. Not by a long shot.
ReplyDeleteSo, the fact that a school's staff is 100% "fully vaccinated" should not imply the staff members are safe during a pandemic. They are not necessarily immune. At the same time, kids under 12 are unvaccinated (50 million of them nationwide, BTW) and can carry and transmit the disease (as can the vaccinated, of course). And the vaccination rate of the under 16 is very low.
My student was hospiralized for seizures following the shot.
ReplyDeleteYou know you have a point, Mario. First thing to do to stop a pandemic is seal borders and quarantine anyone coming into the country. Both Trump and Biden took half assed measures that have failed badly. The mandate announced today can't have any impact for months since most are two shot vaccines that take a while to be effective.
ReplyDeleteBiden is allowing many more illegals, unvaccinated, into the country. That is fact. If the vaccine works, who cares if people are unvaccinated as they would be unable to harm those who are vaccinated.
ReplyDeleteNo vaccine is 100% effective. That doesn't mean it does not work. C'mon.
ReplyDeleteJames claims 1500 daily covid deaths. That is disingenuous. Dying WITH covid is different than dying FROM covid.
ReplyDeleteBut of course the truth does not fit his agenda
Which right wing outlet gave this talking point about dying with COVID as opposed to dying from COVID? Please.
ReplyDeleteno social distancing. packed into an auditorium like sardines. meetings in packed classrooms.. "this is 3 feet, the same as before".. 35 kids in a class. how many will die?
ReplyDeleteCare to explain, James?
ReplyDeleteAt least postal workers don't move about or have any contact with the public, so no biggie.
NEWS: White House official tells me USPS workers are NOT included in President Biden’s vaccine requirement, but “we strongly encourage them to comply with these standards.”
The USPS workers should all have to be vaccinated.
DeleteThen why are they not mandated to be?
DeleteOSHA regulations are designed to protect workers from work conditions set by management. Biden's proposed regulation is designed to restrict workers themselves, since the unvaccinated workers are almost entirely unvaccinated because they want to be. Plus, this will harm minorities, causing them to be fired at a disproportionate level. Nice.
ReplyDelete829...What?
ReplyDeleteAre people, illegal immigrants, carrying the virus?
Yes.
So why aren't they mandated as I am?
I have a feeling Mulgrew is speculating again.
ReplyDeleteFor instance, Mulgrew's track record on speculations about the
NY City mayor races have been 100% wrong.
Wrong again Mike Mulgrew! The UFT members who support you deserve you failed leadership.
Here you are struggling to preview the political headwinds:
https://www.previewsworld.com/Catalog/MAY111713
7:43: This is a serious matter because it will affect your observations. It needs to be brought up with your supervisor and that person's supervisor. I'm assuming one of you is a gen ed. teacher and one is ISS. Don't expect the para to be much help. They usually just work with one student. If you are doing all the work in class and your supervisor comes in and the other teacher is just sitting there, that is going to reflect negatively on your observation. Get on it now, so at least your supervisor will be privy to it.
ReplyDeleteReport from first day back in a high school:
ReplyDeleteColleagues were mostly chill. Nobody promoted mandates or acted terrified. Many of us made jokes about the absurdities of cloth masks and masks in general as nearly useless, performative gestures of submission. Nobody asked me if I was vaccinated. We all guessed when schools would be shut down again. Some said October, some said November. Not because we are afraid but rather we acknowledge the absurdity of the situation and the constant erosion of liberty and political representation,
I searched for James’ mythical mandater majority, these huddled masses yearning for others to be unfree. Alas, they were only to be found sharing “scary” anecdotes on this blog and other social media locales with extremely limited Overton windows.
James, I appreciate your humility in this recent comment: “I will feel relieved and grateful if everything goes well and there are few outbreaks from the schools. I like to error on the side of safety for kids and adults.” We definitely agree on that point.
However, your stalwart faith in symptom retardants (“vaccines”) as our new Lord and Savior is troubling to say the least. Here’s some words of caution about the Brave “New Normal” that you eagerly champion.
“All dictatorships in history have been ideologically-religious, but there comes a time of medical dictatorship where, if you do not accept a certain behavior or vaccine, there is no COVID permission, you are excluded from society, pure medical apartheid. All values written in the constitutions of the countries of the democratic world were demolished overnight. In the name of "caring" for your health. All dictatorships hid behind the care of the "little man" and fed people paranoia."
The quote is from an Eastern European author, pardon the grammatical errors.
It feels great to be back. I love teaching. I hope to continue to be allowed to.
So i guess the USA is a dictatorship. We're all mandated to be vaccinated in order to live and work in this country. My card is a bit tattered but I have one. Ask your parents, they will tell you about the mandates they followed to enroll you in school. We are a dictatorship for many years according to you. So why are people so afraid now?
DeleteChallenging assumptions once again. I know it’s a preprint, relax.
ReplyDeleteSARS-CoV-2 mRNA Vaccination-Associated Myocarditis in Children Ages 12-17: A Stratified National Database Analysis
https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.08.30.21262866v1
“This incidence exceeds their expected 120-day COVID-19 hospitalization rate at both moderate (August 21, 2021 rates) and high COVID-19 hospitalization incidence. Further research into the severity and long-term sequelae of post-vaccination CAE is warranted. Quantification of the benefits of the second vaccination dose and vaccination in addition to natural immunity in this demographic may be indicated to minimize harm.”
Doug,
DeleteWe quoted a poll showing large majority is for vaccine mandates.
You have far more chance of getting complications from COVID than from vaccines. That is well documented.
I got the vaccine and it works and I trust it but if you don't get the vaccine then I will get sick and die and it will be all your fault so please get the vaccine because it works and because I am vaccinated and will die of COVID if you don't get vaccinated too
ReplyDeleteIf vaccines don’t offer protection, then what’s the point of getting vaccinated?
ReplyDeleteBiden keeps telling people that vaccinations don’t work while also saying it’s the only way out of the pandemic.
I really think we should leave the former and current presidents out of this post/discussion. Decisions about schools are in the hands of states.
ReplyDeleteThe federal government can deny funding.
ReplyDelete11:39 when and where did Biden tell people that vaccinations don't work?
ReplyDelete10:29 that's real cute but the fact is the unvaccinated may put a strain on our classrooms, in the hospitals, and on businesses, and other resources. If we're vaccinated we may not die from COVID but we damn sure don't want to die from waiting for a hospital bed because someone who made the choice not to vaccinate is taking up space. It's real:
ReplyDelete"There are a lot of people who don't believe the hospitals are full," Liz Hamer, a friend of the Van Pelt family, told the news station. "It's really hard to listen to when one of my friend's husbands was lying in the hospital dying because he couldn't get the treatment he needed because the beds are full."
Hasn't really happened in NY but why we shouldn't have to wait until it does. Find a job in a red State that supports your views.
10:02 Your post reads like one big long lie. First clue is that all your colleagues were chill. Anti-vaxxers are never chill. And it's hard to believe that everyone disagreed with the mask wearing. Masks are uncomfortable for everyone but the only ones who think they are useless or right wingers. They always find something to complain about, especially the incessant whining about having to take a fucking vaccine during a pandemic.
ReplyDelete@3:17 am...
DeleteI beg to differ. Many people have perfected "the fakeness". They will smile and nod all fu^king day during work hours. Admin tells them to sit on the floor to play "patty cake patty cake" as a team building activity...those fakers will be the first ones down there looking at you side eyed. Puh-lese. The energy they have on a blog is wayyyyy different than what they display at work. What gets me is how they've been wearing a "mask of fakeness" for decades but take issue when asked to wear a mask to protect the country. GTFOOH. Oh yes i believe 10:02. Everyone was kumbaya yesterday. The fakeness was on overdrive.
7:43 I feel sorry for the situation you are in. Nothing is more uncomfortable than being forced to work with someone who simply doesn't care or have lost the love of teaching yet they are stuck there because they are there only for the paycheck. If there is a trusted admin or colleague there I definitely would make your concerns known so as others said so it doesn't come back to you on observations.
ReplyDeleteBut my best advice is this. If you love what you do and it sounds like you do then I would suggest you do what you do best. Love your job. Do your best. That other teacher may not notice or care but you will. And your students, the ones who want to learn, the ones who come to school knowing that the best part of their day is with you will also notice. Kids always do.
We come on here for answers, advice, and even some arguing but at the end of the day if you aren't happy then why continue to do something that doesn't make you happy. Believe us all, the powers that be have tried to take the joy out of teaching. Your colleague's issues are not yours, they are theirs. Keep a smile on your face, keep motivated, and keep doing what you love. 2 Things will happen. Either they'll change or they'll get even more annoyed knowing you raised the bar. Either way it will be satisfying to you.
Good Luck.
It is a tricky argument to say vaccines are very safe and very effective but I am not protected if I have a vaccine and you don’t have a vaccine.
ReplyDeleteIt turns out ‘effective’ is a relative (sometimes very relative) term (hence the pending boosters) and so is the word ‘protected’.
Beyond that, Biden’s shift yesterday to attempted vaccine mandates on large (100+) employers in the private sector probably reflects frustration about the sheer number of his disasters (Kabul, Southern border, crime, and Covid).
Nobody knows if this shift will stand in the courts or if it will even have a significant positive effect on Covid.
Yes, the unvaccinated people getting Covid are clogging up emergency rooms and ICU beds for people who may need them such as those with heart attacks, strokes and people in car accidents. People who are unvaccinated are selfish and don't care about others.
ReplyDeleteNone of you care about kids. If you did, you’d demand flu vaccines for kids. Flu is more deadly to children. COVID more deadly in adults. The fact that teachers are up in arms about COVID vaccines and not flu demonstrates you care nothing about the kids.
ReplyDeleteBeing phony gets me 100+ grand salary and effective, highly effective ratings. Being phony is easy when you’re dealing with people you have no respect for and you don’t give a shit about. Save your real self for your friends and family and play the doe fools for every $ you can. They are the easiest people to fool when you can speak their buzz word comprised language.
@4:18 am...
ReplyDeleteDo you. Whatever you need to do to get you through your life. Some folks believe that you reap what you sow. We all will answer for our behavior one day. As the Ojays say, "money money money cash money...for the love of money people will lie, people will cheat..." Do you baby. Earn that money the only way you know how...on your knees.
4:18 So you're a phony who cares nothing about the kids or anyone else, but you're complaining about other teachers who don't care about the kids?? But what you're really mad about is that vaccinated teachers won't advocate for people like you to keep your job. Why should they? You just admitted that you're a big, fat, phony who only cares about yourself.
ReplyDelete@9:47 this post sounds like the same phony who was whining and crying about brown and black people being the problem. They're running out of people to blame when looking in the mirror would suffice.
@220am...
ReplyDelete@418 sounds like a coward. Plain and simple. It is fantastic that they don't mind sharing their techniques for "survival" such as pretending! Boot licking! Blaming. We all know that the feeble nervous nellies would prefer to drop to their knees rather than fight for their survival. So to 4:18 am let me put it to you this, "ain't nobody studying you". Do you. If you like it. I love it. Amazon has knee pads on sale. You make over $100,000 you should stock up.
If telling my woke AP that I agree with her while laughing behind her back as she gives me highly effective and easy per session is boot licking, well then boot licking isn’t as bad as you sjws pretend it is.
ReplyDeleteYes I’m a phony. As are all of you demanding COVID vaccines but not flu vaccines. We’re both phonies. Welcome to the club.
Thanks for the Amazon tip but I don’t need the knee pads. Because I tell the DOE fools what they want to hear, my principal offers me the comfy chair when I stop by to say hello. The knee pads are needed by the UFT fools who don’t know how to play and win the game without getting on their knees or getting knocked to the ground. If the DOE woke weren’t so stupid, maybe I’d need those pads. For now a smile and words of agreement for all things woke is all it takes. Suckers. Every last one of them. If you have a brain, a charming personality and are willing and able to lie with a straight face, you can skip the padding and retire with a small fortune in per session.

ReplyDeleteSo you kiss their ass in exchange for a comfy chair? Probably rat out your co-workers. You sound like someone of very low character. And please, don't kid yourself, you do not have a charming personality. They're just using you and laughing behind your back. How embarrassing for you.
