NYC MANDATES VACCINE FOR ALL CITY EMPLOYEES, OFFERS $500 INCENTIVE

Mayor Bill de Blasio announced a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for all municipal employees. He is offering a $500 incentive to get the shot. Why doesn't everyone who previously received the vaccine get the extra $500? Shouldn't people be rewarded for already having done the right thing?

Before the comment comes: If NYC has money to pay employees $500 to get a vaccine, then surely there is money to pay UFTers who worked through 2020 spring break.

  1. $500 doesn’t even pay for a funeral.

We gave back 5 years of raises in one high inflation year.

  4. Buuutttt, please remember that the uniformed unions in NYC are not going to be bribed into getting the shot. Watch the retirements and resignations soar in the next 30 days. We will see a crime wave like the 70's with the random arson fires as well that will not be put out. Oh yeah, garbage will be piled up in the streets and the buses and subways will be running beyond slow. Thanks DeBlasio you asshole! (Oh yeah, I'd like my 500 dollars now since I was forced to be vaccinated by you)

School safety agents seize 3 guns from students at NYC schools
Three guns were confiscated from city students inside high school buildings in a matter of hours Wednesday — two in the Bronx and one in the Brooklyn, sources told The Post.

An 18-year-old student who refused to pass through a metal detector at the Mott Haven Educational Campus in the Bronx ran from the building and tried to hide a .22-caliber pistol in his backpack. A third gun was discovered at FDR HS during a fight between two students.

  7. This is an obvious attempt to bribe firefighters and police officers. You can have a shortage of teachers, but not firefighters or police officers. All the mayor needs is an incident in which a person could have been saved had their been more officers or firefighters on the job.

  8. James, now you are just starting to think rationally. Wonderful!

Mayor de Blasio is an ass. This $500 payment is not his money. de Blasio never had a moral compass so it is not reasonable to say he has lost his moral compass. This is another amoral
    decision by de Blasio.

    Now answer this:
Why should we support Mulgrew in any way when he is working against us?

  9. We have accepted lower pay increases so as to help out de Blasio when he requires money for this type of incentive.

  13. Vax mandates are so important to our health that old as dirt Nancy Pelosi just had to vacation in a state she said was dangerous because it outlaws mandates. Nancy Pelosi knows DeSantis is right. NYers are suckers for a false government narrative.
