ADAMS ON CNN: MULGREW AND I ARE LOCK-STEP, WE ARE ON THE SAME PAGE
Please watch the CNN interview with Mayor Eric Adams from this morning and judge for yourself where Michael Mulgrew and Eric Adams are coming from. Thanks to Shelley for sending it to us.
Now that the entire country has Covid...Have we hit herd immunity?
Secretary Cardona says schools are equipped to handle the surge in Covid cases. Ebony Hilton, MD responds. "I ask you, is your child in that private school?" Or, is it one of those classrooms where there are 40 children in a class with no room to spread out?
Teachers are fucking suckers. No surprise. But let Mulgrew lead while paying $1,600 to get abused.
NEW: The city says nearly 14,000 cases of coronavirus among students and staff were reported to the situation room between 12/23 and 1/3 -- a period that is mostly during the system's winter break.
That's a big increase over the rate cases were previously being reported.
For a sense of scale:
12/23 - 1/3: 14,000 cases in twelve days 9/13 - 12/22: 21,828 cases in three months
So, we had over 80% of our staff out today. Our district's superintendent was made aware of this and told my principal that she couldn't contact the parents. Central staff were deployed to the school to "sub" - none of them were licensed teachers, so they weren't able to be alone with students. The handful of teachers who were in the building had to be with them. 30-40 students were in mixed classrooms together; going against many IEP mandates. But at least we have the stroungest union in the ccountry.
I just hope the bond that these new buddies have is remembered by all when it is time to vote in the next UFT election. Veterans, make sure to SPREAD THE WORD TO NEWBIES IN YOUR SCHOOLS!!!
That tool Adams keeps repeating that schools and private business must have everybody in person to "Support the economic ecosystem". The fact is he does not give two shits about you or families. He only cares about pumping more money into his coffers.
"There’s zero learning happening. We're just trying to keep everyone fed and alive," a Brooklyn HS teacher told me today. "There's too much disorder, and most students are home." Kids cutting in halls. Administrators out sick. No subs or Tweed/district envoys. "It's a farce."
At one Brooklyn campus, a sickout among ~80% of educators forced a school to collapse classes w/ up to 35 students per room. DOE sent central staff to fill in, but most didn't have teaching licenses so couldn't cover classrooms.
Yet, like every other year, students manage to set records for graduation rate while learning absolutely nothing, while many don't even attend.
We are lying about the numbers of positive , we are lying about the safety of schools because we want schools open to babysit and parents to work so the economy doesn’t tank. Just fucking tell the truth Adams and Mulgrew! The thing is what does the economy do over the summer? Why is it such a big deal to close for a week or two?! Economy doesn’t tank over the summer!
Can someone clarify how many students are supposed to get tested at schools? I heard some say 20 percent but then I heard that was only of unvaccinated students. Then I heard they are only doubling the original number of students. My school has over 20 cases and they were all identified over break and through at home testing, so my school is reported as having no cases. Talk about the doe playing smoke and mirrors
Why can't people admit how pathetic Biden is? So much bravado against TRump little pussy cats to admit I voted for that dementia patient skeleton who is an embarrassment, makes this world 100 times dangerous. Think Putin is scared haha. Least James admitted Biden has been a failure.
Same old Mulgrew, doing what works best for him. Takes our money yet doesn't protect members rights and safety needs. When was the last time members were polled in on decisions that effect all of us.
@2:43 1000% correct! James and the people on here always have such hope things will change which makes them insane per Einstein.
Worst dems ever ruining this city and all they want is more liberals here. Absolutely, no want for a republican with a dem at least. I pray Lee Zeldin/Guiliani least become governor , otherwise its going to be a dark winter forever here,
ADams is going to be terrible and why are people surprised MUlgrew is playing politics and screwing us and laughing.
It gets worse Alvin Bragg manhattan DA nobody voted for basically 1% of 8 million does not want to prosecute prostitution, not paying bus or mta fares, resisting arrest. The republicans are not perfect for sure, they would make this city so much better than how bad it really is here.
who needs racists republicans when we have the real racists democrats dont worry the new D A will stopped enforcing laws and the city will become a safe place for criminals rotten apple is here to stay please don't move out of nyc and bring your political ideology with you wonder what sleepy Joe thinks, that's right he had nothing on his schedule yesterday

REPORTER: "There is a sense among many that the country has lost control of the virus. Would the White House agree with that?"
ReplyDeletePSAKI: "We would not."
The U.S. just broke a new record with more than 1 million new daily cases.
Now that the entire country has Covid...Have we hit herd immunity?
ReplyDeleteSecretary Cardona says schools are equipped to handle the surge in Covid cases.
Both Mulgrew and Adams want safe school conditions so that teachers can teach and students can learn.
ReplyDeleteMost teachers and parents want that also.

ReplyDeleteAnd it's still the safest place for students.
DeleteOur COPE money went to this Covidiot...Make Mulgrew toast!
ReplyDeleteLet’s see how being Adam’s new best bud plays out in contract talks. My guess, it’s not going to be good.
ReplyDeleteBiden a year ago: “I’ll shut down the virus, not the country.”
ReplyDeleteBiden last month: We’re facing a “winter of severe illness & death.”
Biden today: “We’re going to see…continued rise in cases.”
By his own standard, Biden has failed.
Contract. LOL.
ReplyDelete2014, 10% over 7 and a half years.
What about all the poor, White, Indian, Asian, kids that need a meal?! This guy is a racist against anyone but black or brown.
ReplyDeleteThey will remain best buddies when Mulgrew sells you out during the next contract.
ReplyDeleteMulgrew is pimping for the Democrat political bosses.
Mulgrew has zero concern for your safety, zero concern for your post retirement medical and zero concern for you work conditions.
4:27:00 PM - remember... COPE money is voluntary and teachers can choose to no longer have it deducted...
ReplyDeleteDues are optional as well. Based on all these replies, it seems like you're all being taken care of quite well.
ReplyDeleteI just hope the bond that these new buddies have is remembered by all when it is time to vote in the next UFT election. Veterans, make sure to SPREAD THE WORD TO NEWBIES IN YOUR SCHOOLS!!!
ReplyDeleteThey speak 3 times a day. Best buddies.

ReplyDeleteAdams is already failing as mayor. He says the schools are safe, yet 1 out of 3 kids is not attending school. Something is wrong here Mr. Adams.

Vote mulgrew out. He is a disaster who will sell us all out in the next contract.
ReplyDeleteOnly racists disagree with Adams.
ReplyDelete7:36: That's a stupid thing to say. You must be a principal.
ReplyDeleteThis video clips makes me think the mayor considers schools not about education but about food programs and child care.
