MULGREW DOES NOT MAKE LIST OF NYS POWER 100 LABOR LEADERS

City&State regularly puts up lists of top labor leaders. Tonight I was reading the latest New York State Labor Power 100.  I was surprised to see AFT President Randi Weingarten, NYSUT President Andy Pallotta, Council of Supervisors  President Mark Cannizzaro, Syracuse, Buffalo, and Rochester teacher union presidents, and UFT lawyer from Strook Alan Klinger on the list.

There is one notable name missing: NYSUT Board of Directors member-AFT Vice President-UFT President Michael Mulgrew. Mulgrew didn't make the top 100. To be fair, I am sure he makes the city top labor list and Mulgrew was number 1 in the state power 100 in 2020 but that makes his omission from this year's list all the more noticable.

If a mainstream media outlet such as City&State can figure out that Mulgrew is not a major labor leader, I hope the members of the UFT can come to the same conclusion and vote United for Change in the upcoming UFT election in April.

  1. Mulgrew is not a labor leader, period. So he wasn't even considered as he should not be considered.

However, he is the number one leader of the NY City Department of Finance.

He has done more than anyone to help NY City with its faux austerity
by sharply cutting the benefits of MLC Union members and retirees.

  3. Sorry off topic-

Does anyone see extra money in there Feb 28th paystub? I see grievance $842.74. I do not know what this is for.
The only grievance I ever had was for teaching an extra different grade for a few weeks in Sept 2020 virtually. I did receive SHORT LIC PREP money in Oct 2021 and thought that was the payment for this grievance.

I do remember reading that the union was fighting for a full payment not just covered preps. Does anyone know if that was won? Thanks for any info.

  4. James as your title states the list published is of State labor leaders.
City and State will publish their City leaders list later in the year.
I will bet you any amount Mulgrew will be on that list.
If this shows how a leader of the opposition to Mulgrew acts, I will vote for Mulgrew.

  5. We acknowledge that he will be on the city list unless he loses the election, 3:51. However, how do you go from 1 on the STATE list to not in the top 100 in 2022?

  6. Even many anon Unity people mock Mulgrew as a leader. Even if he wins but if UFC gets around 40% there will be a coup. They recognixe he will be no match for Adams who will intimidate him using the race card.

  7. Your wife should go to 5 hs, ms, and elementary in every borough.

    1. Why are you not asking Mulgrew about term limits?
    2. Remind people he has 74 teachers blood on his hands for closing schools late with his ass buddy mayor
