VOTE UFC TO END UNITY'S SECRET BARGAINING

91% of UFTers now want open bargaining according to a Facebook group poll. You won't get it unless you vote out Unity-Mulgrew.

  1. The Chief Leader article said electronic voting was rejected by a bi-partisan committee.

  2. How can you negotiate openly. Then, everything is in the newspaper. The Post gets to tear the mayor apart every day. We'd never get a contract. This just shows how naive UfC is. They're not ready to lead. Vote Mulgrew.

    1. Members are more important than the press. This just shows how little you want members involved.

    2. Vote Mulgrew if you love being treated like an imbecile

  3. UfC.. simplistic answers to intractable problems. Health care costs skyrocket. What's your solution? Strike. You're babies. I'm for Mulgrew.

  4. How do Chicago, Denver and LA manage to do open bargaining? It is the trend because members are involved in the process. They have corporate press in those cities too.

  5. Unity has a majority on the committee. Karen Alford didn't mention that, did she?

  6. 11:46:00 - The bi-partisan committee referred to in The Chief is the UFT Election Committee. The committee has thirteen members, 8 from Unity and 5 from UFC. Electronic voting was rejected in an 8-5 party-line vote.

  7. Vote the liar Mulgrew out of the UFT presidency.

Secrecy leads to betrayal, fraud and under the table deals,
which is exactly what we have experienced with Mulgrew.

    Sunlight is the best disinfectant!

  8. Wow, sounds like encouraging people to keep paying dues to that group is a foolish stance. That's an extensive list.

    1. @218pm, move along. I am tired of your song. It's been on replay for over 2 years. Maybe you should try taking your song to another station to find an interested audience.

  9. Agree with 2:18. Keep singing as long as you want to.

  12. Sing all together now—‘, ‘Do you want to know a secret—do you promise not to tell…’

  13. If Mulgrew could be trusted, it might not matter that the negotiations are in secret.

However he has shown himself to be a very, very, very inept negotiator with zero toughness. In fact it looks like New York has something on his background that he has to hide from or perhaps Mulgrew is only trying to ingratiate himself with the Democratic party leadership.

His negotiating has been catastrophically and consistently horrible.
Mulgrew has been a disaster for teachers and for retirees.

  14. Why can't we fight for 20 years guaranteed 40% pension? Instead of enrolling in 25/55 and let's say you do not make that, get a 27% hit to pension. You can legit teach 22 years and instead of having 44% pension you have 17%. Needs to be fixed.

Term limits. Mulgrew should not be even allowed to run.

How sick is this disturbed shit head mayor. First, he continues to mask little toddlers which is beyond child abuse. Now he wants to try and have gay floridians to come to new york because they god forbid they want k-3rd to be taught about sexual identity since that makes perfect sense for them.

    1. It's called a layer of protection not abuse. Don't water down the term abuse. Say you don't like it, that's all you have to do.

    2. In Florida, my 1st grade student with two mothers, would not be allowed to discuss his family. This discussion would not talk about sex. It would be a simple discussion about families and how they are different. But god forbid! anyone diverge from the traditional family structure. Here, in NYC, we do not deny the existence of families just because they aren't hetero couples. The best of us educate, with care and concern. You social conservatives just deny and exclude. Or, to use some favorite terms of the reactionary right, you censor and cancel.

  16. 12:21 - when has Anon2323 ever told the truth about anything. I mean really "beyond child abuse"...it's why no one with any sense takes him serious.
