  1. I'm not at all surprised by Unity's push to defend the status quo. The union is extremely fat and the payroll large. The thought of ending the party is scary for the participants who have worked so hard to take home more salary, not protect the union members.

Michael Mulgrew is out of touch with teaching in the system we work in now. It's been over a decade since he stepped foot in a classroom from any significant amount of time yet we rely upon him to steer us for protection?

We need people who teach and share a passion for working with young adults steering our Union. We need a leadership that's going to fight not roll over while playing for the city.

I urge you to vote for United for Change.

Oh and don't worry about Michael Mulgrew. He'll probably be hired by the city... Maybe they'll find a new person to take care of "talent management."

  2. I want current classroom teachers at the negotiating table to bring the outrage.

  3. Mulgrew would be rewarded with a lucrative job with NY City department of finance. Probably as an administrator. He has already saved them billions from your pockets to their pocket.

  4. I was working with the union on an issue and I was dropped like a hot pancake when it was time to take action. No follow-up from the union.... Where are they???? Unity does not deserve my vote. A straight forward answer I could respect, but to not follow through is a No-No.

  5. Lmho. A few ago I received a call from someone in the UFT stating they "found" a folder pertaining to a matter I thought the UFT was pursuing on my behalf. They "found" it. Where did you find it--in the garbage? On the subway? Nada. It was just buried in some office. Maybe your issue is sitting next to my issue. The current UFT sucks.

  6. @6:37 PM - I don't know..... My issue is current so it's on purpose. Nothing has been lost. It is very disrespectful. Just be honest if they cannot pursue an issue and provide a reason, but to not follow through is just unprofessional. Tell you, drop it like a hot pancake.

    1. I agree. We need to give UFC a chance to show us how a union is supposed to treat its members. The UFT has already shown me how they play.

  7. The Union flat out told me at a hearing that they only support issues they pick. I was at a hearing fighting the union and the DOE... You can guess the outcome! That day, I saw the truth about the UFT under Unity's rein.
