A new FEMA policy change will scrub COVID-19 funds for disinfecting mass transit, schools and other public facilities, New York officials charged on Thursday.
Now the federal government is no longer going to supply COVID 19 cleaning in nyc public institutions including courts, schools, subways, etc.... according to the Post.
So if I'm home with someone who is high risk, would I qualify for the 2 weeks? They've been told by a doctor to work from home but not necessarily quarantine.
So doesnt this mean they cant make the uft checklist points uf there is no more covid disinfection??then uft should push not to open if there wont be disinfection.wasnt opening schools done on condition of sanitizing??,uft doesnt say boo, and even the doe offices are remote.double standard.
Hey Mulgrew/ @UFTUnity : I’m assuming @UFT staff are of course all returning to the office next week, just like teachers? I know Mike is more committed than anyone to getting NYC up and running with @NYCMayor! “NY strong” means “NY at the office”— am I right??
This huge Covid cleaning cut will GUARANTEE a second wave in NYC via the MTA. The homeless live in the subways and have no way to keep clean even if they wanted to. Almost all students and many teachers use it for transportation.
8:49 I was approved to teach remotely. I was recently told to not come in for PD days and that all training would be done remotely. Hope that helps. Good luck.
I keep getting emailed that we can come in to pick up supplies and clean out our desks and student desks and put things away(We were not allowed to do so in March or June). I don't want to go in. I saw the room in June and everything was shoved against one wall by custodians. I am approved for a medical leave. Do I need to go and clean out student desks or is it the responsibility of administration to put things away and set up the room to covid standards? I am nervous that if I catch covid and went in it will be my fault since I am on leave and won't get paid. Please advise.
I have two elementary-aged kids. My wife, who is at increased risk, works full time but is now working remotely. Would I be eligible for this leave? I’m generally the primary care giver, and our kids are currently still enrolled in hybrid.
Neither I, my Dist.Rep, nor my Admin knew about it.
It also seems to make calling out for pretty much anything now a possible COVID symptom with set conditions for your return - but days do not get counted from your bank(If I'm reading this correctly).

Are any remote teachers with an exemption being asked to come in the first couple of weeks without students?
Thank you again for what you do, James.
Thank you for this! How do I find it on the DOE website?
I'm looking - but it's not obvious to me.

How the hell can schools open if the feds are going to cut funding???

Joe see A. II. You need to actually be the person's caretaker.

Apply. Nothing to lose.
How does someone apply for these??
@12:32 - not sure if this is what you're referring to, but google NYC SOLAS (self-service online leave application system)
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS!
