PEOPLE POWER WORKS IN FLORIDA!

Florida governor Charlie Crist vetoed the despicable bill that would have ended tenure in the sunshine state. We could learn a great deal about how teacher and student outrage turned into action can influence even a Republican governor.

People have asked us to comment on the NYC rubber room deal. We will have something to say after we study it. For now, we should all be pleased with what happened in Florida. Maybe the push back in support of teachers that started there will spread around the country.

Awesome news. The teachers there really pulled it together to get their side of the story out. We can definitely take a page from their book.

All educators nationwide should be happy about this. The Governor got it right! This is a big victory, a mighty middle finger to the Educrats.

James, you worked hard on reporting this. Thank you for saving Jamaica High School and for saving tenure in Florida.

Unity Must Go!

Seriously, now James saved tenure in Florida?

What is up with this blog?

Saving tenure in Florida...WTF...this is exactly why the union can't be handed over to the nuthouse.

Teachers walked out on their own. The teachers in Florida saved their own tenure. Congratulations to them.

ICE reported on it and urged people to get involved. We saw nothing from UFT.

Yes, ICE reported on it. But how does that get equated to saving tenure?

ICE also urged people to email Crist. What did Unity do? Nothing.
