I think we need a little bit more serious preparation for a mobilization but here is the information.
Day of Action at your schools this coming Monday, Nov. 21
We are proud to work in one of the largest and most diverse school systems in the country. Every child, regardless of ethnic background, gender identity, faith or immigration status, has the right to feel safe in our city and especially inside our schools. That’s why we are asking chapter leaders to organize a Day of Action at their schools this coming Monday, Nov. 21. On this day, we will come together to affirm that our schools are safe havens for learning and to demonstrate our commitment to our students and their families. The DOE advises that, as always, staff should not wear or hand out buttons or leaflets that are partisan in nature to students or parents on school premises (the sidewalk in front of a school is okay) or during school hours. Take photos of members participating in the Day of Action and post them on Instagram and Twitter using the hashtag #UFTDayofAction. Please send your best one or two photos (large size, with captions) to uftphotos@gmail.com for our Facebook and website photo albums. Read Carmen FariƱa’s message to educators about fostering tolerance in our schools.

they are also safe havens for in schools thugs, to curse threaten, say nigga, bitch, faggot, white piece of shit and then get told, "dont do that again, or else nothing."
This city is sick and getting sicker. Thank god most of the nation has some common sense.
Its only a matter of time now people...can anyone say michelle rhee
The white supremist here will then blame the UFT.
A black person did this or that. But when Trump supporters write on a church, "Trump nation, whites only," that guy is silent. His outrage only goes one way.
Can you really compare the two?
Its 400 years of oppression, right? Asians are new to the county, their schools arent shut down, they dont commit crime at record levels.
Sad. We're all Americans. You want to see real crime, violence and oppression go to Asia. They're here to escape it. Black and White Americans are spoiled bitches to don't know how good they got it.
I know, tell all the freeloaders who never work and just get tax refunds for popping out babies.
F this Sh*t if you're here illegally get out!
With the Mayor poised to try to stand-up to Obama over "sanctuary city" status, we are going to all suffer when the Federal gov't stops giving the city needed funds. Our raises will again not match inflation.
What planet are you living on thinking about raises? It's the least of our troubles as Trump wishes to privatize education. Wake up.
Like our raises matched last time, 1 percent per year, and backloaded.
Yes, another black piece of trash...Tell the family of the cop that their family member was killed because this guys was oppressed.
The man who fatally shot a Texas cop as he sat in his patrol car writing a traffic ticket was arrested Monday, authorities said — revealing that the suspect had staked out police headquarters hours before the murder.
Otis Tyrone McKane, 31, was caught near a highway overpass in the San Antonio area.
He had been seen at San Antonio’s police headquarters at about 7:45 a.m. Sunday, four hours before he shot Detective Benjamin Marconi, 50, authorities said.
Surveillance footage showed McKane pacing in front of the building before entering, asking a clerk a question and leaving without getting an answer, authorities said.
“I think the uniform was the target,” said San Antonio Police Chief William McManus.
“I don’t know why he was in headquarters — we have some ideas,” McManus added, noting that no cops were inside at the time.
Moments later, the man pulled up in a black Mitsubishi Galant behind the 20-year police veteran’s cruiser and shot him twice.
The driver whom Marconi had pulled over was questioned and released.
Marconi was one of four officers shot in four different cities within 12 hours Sunday.
A 46-year-old St. Louis police sergeant was hospitalized in critical condition after he was shot twice in the face while he sat in traffic in a marked police car.
“This officer was driving down the road and was ambushed by an individual who pointed a gun at him from inside of his car and shot out the police officer’s window,” Police Chief Sam Dotson said. “Fortunately, for the blessing of God, the officer’s going to survive.”
Dotson said the cop is a 20-year veteran and a married father of three.
The suspect, George Bush III, 19, was tracked down early Monday in the neighborhood where the shooting happened. As cops converged, he shot at another police car, missing both occupants.
Officers returned fire, killing Bush, who had been wanted in connection with a spate of crimes.
“[The sergeant] was targeted because he was a police officer,” St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay said.
Two other cops were shot Sunday night, but it wasn’t immediately clear whether they were directly targeted. Police have not said if race played a part in any of the four shootings.
A passing motorist shot a Sanibel, Fla., cop in the shoulder as he was writing a ticket. Police later wounded the suspect, Jon Hay, 49, and charged him with attempted homicide, The Wall Street Journal reported. The officer was treated at a hospital and released.
A Gladstone, Mo., cop was wounded by a man who was killed in a struggle after a traffic stop.
Marconi’s death brings the total number of US cops killed this year to 128, up from 109 at the same time last year, according to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.
Wow, there is another, all black smash and grab at jewelry store. Just watch the news, one after another.
Another brilliant initiative by the old gray mare Farina. Let's establish "safe spaces" so that the little snowflakes, who are suffering from the election loss, can come and be free from triggers Let's be careful not to upset these emotionally fragile little snowflakes, as exemplified by the cast of Hamilton who so rudely lectured the incoming VP on "inclusion".
"I'M AFRAID!" I'M SO AFRAID!"
And you thought New Yorkers were tough.
This dopey new initiative was also the work of Marshmallow Mike. Yes, our embarrassing UFT leader, hard at work. This is what he makes the big bucks for. And this is what you're handing over 1% of your annual salary for. Getting your moneys worth?
Complete double standard. Where is my safe space when im being called faggot and bitch?
ATR here. How do you like 71 in the gym, 1 teacher. UFT? ARE YOU HELPING?
ATRs, other issues such as horrible admin staffs, horrible kids, clueless principals and on and on are all becoming irrelevant. We really need to be focusing on our livelihoods as a whole in that we really need to become ONE again and stop pitting against one another. In a trump education world ALL of us are ATRs and right now any colleague who walks around and actually thinks that they are better than an ATR better re-think their state of mind. I say this because now the game has changed and EVERYONE needs to band together and forget all the petty shit as we really need to have our A game on for the upcoming battle against the wicked witch of the education world whether it be moskowitch or rhee or whomever..this social injustice to us all here as educators is a real slap in the face as we all know that its the kids that occupy our schools that come from families that do not value education or have poverty issues that cause us to look bad and not the "union" like the bastard reformies like to say.....
RE: 71 in the gym with 1 teacher: I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL. Physical education classes are the most common overcrowded classes in NYC and the UFT does nothing about it.
