I am looking forward to hearing Bernie Sanders. Robert Reich, Flight Attendants union President Sara Nelson, and striking workers discuss labor issues this evening.
Update:
I watched the show this evening. The most inspiring part for me was listening to striking workers talk about putting aside political differences for the common goal of improving working conditions for everyone. I hope and pray UFTers will do that soon under different leaders.

I hope they discuss the NYC retiree healthcare/Medicare changes—still scheduled ued for Jan. 1 -how these proposed changes developed during the administration of a so-called Progressive Democratic and how several labor union heads including Mulgrew being part of this MLC cartel ever signed on this deal as they literally shoved this Medicare change down their retired members throats with all their propaganda webinars.
There is no room for optimism as long as Mulgrew is the head of the UFT.
Mulgrew is a perpetual disaster for UFT members.
Just had discussion/argument with my wife. She says Solidarity is not right wing just because they shy away from social justice issues. I say there's a clear continuum, MORE on left want to use the union as a cats paw for world revolution, Unity who focuses on bread and butter with a heavy dose of social justice. and Solidarity who wants to stick to bread and butter unionism exclusively Any thoughts?
Unity doesn't give a shit about bread and butter unionism except when they are forced to and then they continually concede.
754.. my thoughts are you do not recognize the intersectionality of social issues within our communities and our working conditions. you also seem to confuse right, left ideology as being exclusively about devotion to social issues. it's the angle from which issues are approached, not just focusing on them.
i see a lot of power in the combination of the activist, boots on the ground approach of MORE, and the bookkeeping, managerial approach of Solidarity.
as for Unity, they are typical neo-liberals (which is a right wing ideology) that make sure the union doesn't ever rise up and use its true collective power to seek out the demands of its members. they are in our way, and the political and ruling classes of this city enjoy them being in our way. it's a handshake and a wink between these groups and Unity, and two kicks in the pants for us members as long as that arrangement is kept in place. Unity must go. Vote for change! Vote for a better union!
I reject any caucus who uses left wing terms such as intersectionality. It’s commie talk. No thank you. The political left has overplayed their hand. The entire state of VA went right. Every single county in VA moved right on Tuesday. NJ, LI, Seattle. The left’s authoritarianism at work. Biden +10 in VA, Youngin wins. Biden +16 in NJ but Murphy had to squeeze out a win. Americans rejected the socialists’ culture war on Tuesday. Too bad they didn’t stick to healthcare. But they just can’t help themselves. Overplayed their hand.
516. The crap you see as a culture war is just petty fights between the right wing liberals and conservatives. Recognize that all things connect, one thing affects another, that is intersectionality of issues. Socialists engage in class war, not culture.
Authoritarianism is State action that goes against the majority will of the people. Have the two right wing groups, the liberals and the conservatives, ever governed in any other fashion? They have not. The left is non existent in the US system, and that is precisely why we have this poverty stricken, dilapidated country.
Today's socialist focuses on culture. Either way they are my enemy.

The left is not focused on shared/learned American culture. I vote Republican and live in a community with like minded individuals where leftists don’t stand a chance at controlling our schools or local government. That’s what I do. Enjoy your lefty city. I’ll enjoy my righty small town and more specifically my very right wing communist hating neighborhood in that small town.
6:15, I hear you 100%. I will be retiring in a little over a year and a half. My family and I plan to retire down South to a red state that shares our values and mindset. I'm sick to death with what's happened to this country in such a short amount of time. When I move to my new community, I plan to be very active in local politics. I am extremely concerned for my kids who are now young adults, and my future grandchildren. I am cautiously optimistic that Tuesday's election bodes well for next year's mid terms and our nation's future.

You only expose your own ignorance and intolerance for different cultures. These are not Liberals saying these things, these are Republicans and Conservatives. But on this blog, these are the shared values and mindset, and the nation's future they prefer:

I want this country to be its greatest too because since its inception it has been telling half the story (sorta like Aaron Rodgers). However it has only been "a short amount of time" since we have begun to talk about the full story of America. I think this is what makes some people terrified, nervous and angry. People seem bent on keeping things as they were 'a short time ago". I'm not surprised. It was comfortable for them. However it wasn't comfortable for others. Change and compromise are great and is happening--like it or not. The only way to escape it is to leave the US. The idea of being in a bubble is comforting but not sustainable. As more people learn about the actual history of the US, the better/stronger/unified America will be. Those bubbles will pop. Remember "Facts are threatening to those invested in fraud" D. Stokes.
Some shared characteristics of america include: independence, privacy, equality, directness. Republicans Democrats Independents working class would probably say that these are shared characteristics. How we express them may be questionable but if we each compromised--anything is doable. Now if you don't believe in compromise all our bubbles will burst and the fan will be loaded with s^it!.

Exactly! They project A LOT. Maybe they think that shared/learned American culture is going to rodeos, drinking beer at baseball games while hurling racial slurs, teaching a white-washed version of history, not vaccinating during a pandemic while not wearing masks, and wearing red hats. That's their shared culture.
