In Loving Memory of James Eterno

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our dear friend and colleague, James Eterno, on February 6, 2024. James was a cherished member of our community, and his absence will be deeply felt.

James’ life was marked by his unwavering dedication to education and his tireless advocacy for teachers and students alike. His contributions to the ICE-UFT blog have been invaluable, and his insights and wisdom will be sorely missed.

Thank you for your contributions. Your words will help keep James’ spirit alive in our hearts and in our community.

With deepest sympathy,

Jeff Kaufman

Rest in peace. What a sad day. We prayed each day for Mr. Eterno's recovery. I thought and hoped that he would one day return to his blog. We also prayed for his wife and children. Unfortunately, we don't know the time when we will be called home. I think many of us hope to be a positive influence to others if heaven is a goal. Mr. Eterno shared his time and wisdom to others. He was a giver and an unselfish man--qualities approved by God. I am forever thankful for his blog page, wisdom, respect and kindness he showed to me. I especially would like for his children to know that their dad was viewed as a wonderful man who stood up for and helped so many people. I will always share a kind word to others when your dad's name comes up. I respected him a lot. His job here has been completed and he did it with honor. Thank you James Eterno and to the Eterno family, please always remember that your family member was a gem. God bless him and you. Sad day for sure. A really sad day.
